Our take on this /// Verdict
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Stealth Black is a motorcycle that embodies the essence of retro styling and modern reliability. Its iconic design, complete with a matte black finish, makes it a head-turner on the streets. The 499cc single-cylinder engine, producing 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm of peak torque, delivers a unique thumping experience that is both visceral and pleasurable. While the bikes heavy weight and handling can be challenging, especially in tight spots, the addition of ABS and a rear disc brake enhances safety. The overall riding experience is engaging, requiring the rider to be actively involved, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a more authentic biking experience. However, high maintenance and the presence of vibration, particularly in the front forks, are aspects that potential buyers should consider.

This motorcycle is known for its heavy engine and robust build, which typically results in a mileage of around 25-30 kmpl in city riding conditions and up to 35-40 kmpl on the highway. The elder sibling of Classic 350 with some tweaks in the mechanical bits and the amazing matte black color shade, the Royal Enfield Classic 500 is one of the best offerings from the brand. Coming to the dimensions, the bike gets a kerb weight of 194 kgs and the fuel tank capacity of 13.50 litres. With a ground clearance of 135 mm and a saddle height of 800 mm, the bike is suitable to ride on every sharp corner and for the riders of varying heights. The Classic 500 Stealth Black is equipped with an analogue speedometer.

The suspension duties are handled by 35 mm telescopic forks at the front with a 130 mm travel while the rear wheel gets Twin gas charged shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload and 80mm travel. It is equipped with 280 mm disc brakes at the front with a dual piston caliper and 240 mm disc brakes at the rear.
