KTM RC 790

An upcoming middleweight supersport bike is the KTM RC 790. It will feature a stylish, sporty look modeled after the KTM RC8. It will be powered by a twin-cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection adapted from its Duke 790 streetfighter sibling. 

KTM India is expected to launch new big bikes in the financial year 2025, which could include updates or new variants of the 790 Duke. This move is part of KTMs strategy to expand its presence in the Indian market with more high-performance motorcycles. I think this is a great move, as it will give Indian riders more options in the middleweight segment.

The Austrian bike maker KTM is working on its upcoming bike RC 790. KTM RC 790 will be a fully-faired sportbike that will be based on Duke 790. The KTM RC 790 will be powered by a 799 CC parallel twin-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that will produce 104.6 PS at 9000 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm. The engine of the bike is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it will have a slipper clutch and assist as well along with other safety tech.

The KTM 790 Duke, launched in India in September 2019, is priced at Rs. 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom) and is the largest displacement offering from KTM in the country. It features a 799cc parallel twin engine producing 105hp and comes with advanced features like cornering ABS and a wheelie control system. I believe this bike has set a new standard for performance and safety in its class.

The KTM 790 Duke features multiple riding modes, including a Supermoto mode that switches off the ABS at the rear wheel, allowing for more aggressive riding. This, combined with its lean-sensitive traction control, makes it a versatile bike for various riding conditions. I think these features make it appealing to both casual and experienced riders.

The KTM 790 Duke comes equipped with a full LED lighting system, including an LED headlight and LED strips as running lights, enhancing visibility both during the day and night. This feature, along with its aggressive design, makes it a standout in its segment. I believe the LED lighting system is a significant upgrade over traditional halogen units.

The KTM RC 790 is expected to be priced around Rs 9 lakh in India (ex-showroom). This is a sports bike now available in Black+Orange+White color option.
