Its 799cc parallel-twin engine, producing 105 horsepower, is both powerful and refined, making it a joy to ride in various conditions. The bikes electronics package, including 9 levels of traction control, cornering ABS, and multiple ride modes, is unparalleled in its class. While it may have some minor drawbacks like a slightly imprecise gearbox and the need for sharper brakes, these are overshadowed by its overall performance and comfort. The 790 Duke is incredibly easy to maneuver, even in heavy traffic, and transforms into a thrilling machine on the highways. Its comfort and ground clearance make it suitable for daily riding in Indian conditions, making it a top choice for those seeking a fun and capable motorcycle.
Price
In India, the KTM 790 Duke comes with a price tag that reflects its premium features and performance. The ex-showroom price for the 790 Duke is around Rs 8.64 lakh. However, once you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can escalate to approximately Rs 10-11 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. While this may seem steep for some, especially considering KTMs reputation for value-for-money offerings, the 790 Dukes unique blend of power, electronics, and comfort justifies the cost. For those seeking a high-performance motorcycle with advanced features, the 790 Duke is well worth the investment.
Latest Updates
Tuesday, 24 September 2024 06:37 PM The 2024 KTM 790 Duke has been praised for its significant price drop, now costing $9,499, which is $1,000 less than its 2018 price. This makes it an attractive option for those seeking a high-performance bike without the hefty price tag. The bike retains its powerful 799cc parallel-twin engine, producing 105 hp and 65 lb-ft of torque, along with advanced electronics like ride-by-wire throttle control and cornering ABS. I think this price reduction is a smart move by KTM to make the 790 Duke more accessible to a wider audience.
Thursday, 19 September 2024 03:14 AM The 2024 KTM 790 Duke features a robust set of electronic features, including a 4-inch color TFT display, four riding modes (Track, Sport, Street, and Rain), and Motorcycle Traction Control. Saturday, 14 September 2024 11:36 AM KTM has highlighted the aggressive design of the 2024 790 Duke, with its sharp lines and menacing LED headlight. The bikes bodywork is designed to be purposefully naked, emphasizing its performance-oriented stance. The LED headlight, flanked by two LED strips, ensures visibility both during the day and night. I believe this design approach really sets the 790 Duke apart from other naked bikes in the market.
Friday, 30 August 2024 03:00 PM The 2024 KTM 790 Duke boasts a lightweight steel-trellis frame and a die-cast aluminum swingarm, paired with WP Apex suspension at both ends. The bikes handling and agility are further enhanced by its cornering ABS and Supermoto mode.
Saturday, 24 August 2024 10:41 AM KTMs decision to reintroduce the 790 Duke after it was replaced by the 890 Duke in 2021 has been well-received. The lower production costs, partly due to manufacturing by CFMoto in China, have contributed to the bikes reduced MSRP. This move makes the 790 Duke an appealing choice for riders looking for European design and high-tech features at a relatively affordable price.

Shorter riders can opt for an accessory seat that lowers the height to 31.7 inches. The saddle provides ample fore/aft space, making it comfortable for taller riders as well.
Wednesday, 14 August 2024 07:06 AM The 799cc parallel-twin engine of the 2024 KTM 790 Duke uses a 75-degree crankpin angle and 435-degree firing order, giving it a sound similar to a V-Twin. Despite feeling a bit coarse, dual counterbalancers keep vibrations minimal. The engines power delivery is delightful and rousing, making it a joy to ride on public roads.

Best 200cc Bike in India

Rahul PS | One year ago

Currently i bought a Duke 200 BS6 2 weeks ago and its a good decision to buy. I am driving between 55 and 65 and getting a mileage of 40.1 km/l currently which is a good one in this segment. The headlight visibility is good. Initial acceleration is also good. I recommend for Duke 200 and above version to use premium petrol as the compression rate is 11.3. Overall experience, I am totally satisfied with the bike. As on the cons side the ground clearance is really now especially when you are carrying an pillion rider, there is an high chance of hitting the lower part in the bumper.

Best Features: Dual Channel ABS, DRL

Pros: Looks, Acceleration and Mileage

Cons: Ground Clearance

Worst bike when it comes to maintainance

Sagar - | 3 years ago

This review is based on personal experience. KTM Duke 200 is One of the worst bikes when it comes to maintenance. I feel I have spent the same amount on petrol and maintenance. For 15,000km Petrol = 36,000 (bike mileage 30km/LTR) Petrol price - 75 (AVG) Maintenance Service = 3 times x 3500 = 10500 (min) Fork oil seal replacement= 2500 Starter motor stator coil replacement =3500 Chain sprocket replacement= 3500 Oil seal replacement = 1500 Start on button replacement = 1200 Fuel sensor replacement= 1000 Clutch wire replacement = 200 Chain lubrication For every 500kms = 100 I.e for 15,000kms = 3000 Seat cover (because seat started cracking) = 800 Both tires = 7000 Total = 34,700 I can even show bill for all the things I have mentioned above. Bike is not designed for Indian roads. It's just an overpriced low quality bike.

Best Features: Nothing to tell

Pros: Acceleration

Cons: Bike it self

1st of its kind !!

Atiqur Rahman | 7 years ago

Had waited long, but ultimately had launched in India !! By going what's in the paper, it seems like it won't fall short in performance and will be a good investment!! Also not to mention, the waiting period for the Duke 390 is too bit longer as that of Duke 250 & 200,which will be available from 8th of March.

Best Features: TFT info screen, Slipper Clutch, Ride By Wire, LED Headlamps, Adjustable suspension arms !!

Pros: Overhauling design from the previous generation Duke 390. Looks will remain appealing for the coming 4 to 5 years.

Cons: The waiting period of the Duke 390 is more then 1 month after booking too. Price increases in different states, so have to go deep into pockets!!
