USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Hastur 620 is a formidable entry into the middleweight street fighter segment, and its clear that Hero MotoCorp has aimed high with this model. The bikes aggressive and futuristic design, complete with sharp edges and a visible under-skin structure, sets it apart from more conventional motorcycles. The 620cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 78.9 BHP and 72 Nm of torque, is a significant departure from Heros traditional mileage-focused offerings, and it promises exhilarating performance. With a 6-speed gearbox, adjustable suspension, and robust braking system, the Hastur is engineered for both speed and handling. However, its long-awaited production status and competitive pricing will be crucial in determining its success in the Indian market.
Price
The Hero Hastur 620 is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh in India on an ex-showroom basis. This pricing strategy is aggressive, especially considering the bikes performance and features. When you factor in on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other taxes, the price could rise to around Rs 4.5 to Rs 5 lakh, depending on the state. Given its specifications and the segment it competes in, this pricing makes the Hastur a compelling option against rivals like the Kawasaki ER-6n and the Hyosung GT650N. If Hero manages to keep the costs in check, the Hastur could be a game-changer in the Indian middleweight motorcycle market.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:46 AM While the Hero Hastur 620 is built for performance rather than fuel efficiency, its mileage is still a consideration for potential buyers. Given its 620cc engine and the emphasis on power, the mileage is likely to be around 20-25 kmpl in mixed riding conditions. This is relatively modest compared to other Hero models but is in line with what you would expect from a high-performance motorcycle in this segment. For those concerned about running costs, its essential to weigh the thrill of riding a powerful bike against the slightly higher fuel expenses.

Hero Hastur 620 Review

10 Dec, 2015 05:30 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

The vision of the future seems to be based more on practicability than the beauty and making the statement true to its full, we came across the all new ready for its debut machine, the Hero Hastur. The motorcycle is different from what we encounter every day. Curves are totally missing and what all you see are sharp edges of metal and fiber, designed in such a way that it looks nothing less than a beast.

Design & Style

As said above, the Hero Hastur has a very straight forward and aggressive design. The headlights are sharp, two eyes with projector lamps in them. The whole under-skin structure is visible in the form of yellow rods, flowing through the full body, ending at the swing arm. The engine seems more like a massive block under the tank, and the two exhaust pipes ends neatly below the whole structure. The rear view mirrors are arranged very attractively outside the handlebar and the whole thing looks futuristic.

Engine & Performance

The Hero Hastur packs a huge (at-least from the Indian point of view) 620 cc engine, producing nothing less than 78.9 BHP @ 9600 rpm and 72 NM @ 7750 rpm. This is the first time when Hero has broken its mileage friendly image and made something really huge. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the whole setup is said to reach 240 kmph. The fuel tank of 15 litres sound small for the beast, but at 160 kg, it will be really quick in terms of acceleration. This is the first engine developed by Hero which has 2 cylinders.

Suspension & Brakes

Hastur comes with a really impressive braking combination of 2 dual piston, 4 caliper 300 mm disc brakes for the front and a single piston 220 mm disc brake for the rear. The body being light-weight will enhance its braking capability. Hero offers 43 mm inverted forks which are adjustable, for the front suspension and an adjustable monoshock for the rear. The braking and suspension efficiently working together provides smooth and comfortable riding experience.

Shades & Expected Price

Hero has revealed only the Grey/Yellow shade of Hastur and most probably it is said be the only color of its availability. It is expected to cost around INR 4,00,000 and its 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds clearly define that it will be a full value for money product.

Questions and Answers

Most Popular Answers for Hero Hastur 620
Is Hero Hastur 620 more cool than Royal Enfield Classic 500?
29 December 2022 06:09
Hero Hastur and Royal Enfield Classic 500 are two extremely different type of motorcycles. The 499 cc, fuel injected single cylinder Royal Enfield Classic 500 is carrying a big engine with loads of body weight onto it. The engine is relaxed and tuned in the cruiser motorcycle segment while the Hastur on the other hand is street concept with a much bigger 620 cc engine. Hastur takes just 4 seconds for a 0-100 kmph sprint, thanks to its super light body while the top speed sits at 240 kmph. Royal Enfield has a limited top speed of 130 kmph.
When Hero Hastur 620 is going to be launched in India? And where it will be available initially?
29 December 2022 05:59
Hero Hastur has not yet been spotted in a production ready avatar in the country. This makes the fact more strong that it would take a lot more time for its launch. Hero's extensive work on the HX250R has also pushed back the 600cc segment bike. You can expect the same to be available at selected dealerships in the major 100 cities of the country as the sale of the bike would be focused in the most developed markets first. It carries a 620cc engine producing 78.9 BHP @ 9600 rpm and 72 NM @ 7750 rpm. The gearbox on the same is a 6-speed unit and comes with just 160 kg of kerb weight. It's top speed is rated at 240 kmph.
How is the sound of the Hero Hastur 620 and can we put extra vibrational sound silencer.....like R1 and Hayabusa?
29 December 2022 05:53
Hero Hastur has not been spotted in a production ready avatar. Its sound would be below the government directed NVH levels and putting a loud silencer for more noise would be strictly prohibited in the coming days. The time till the Hastur will be arrive, the officials will ban the use of aftermarket exhaust system as they have currently fined some riders as well as the garages who are involved in these cases. I expect that the exhaust note of the Hastur would be good enough that it does not require modifications to its exhaust system. It will get its power from a powerful 2-cylinder 620 cc engine producing 79 BHP and 72 NM of torque. It would most probably debut in 2016 as a mass production ready version.

What's the correct mileage of Hero Hastur 620 and when it will be launched?
29 December 2022 05:53
The mileage of Hero Hastur has not yet been revealed but I expect the figure to be around 22-24 kmpl. Hero has a pending list of motorcycles after which the Hastur will be launched. You can expect this super street bike to arrive in 2016 as 2015 would be for HX250R. Its on-road price in Karnataka would be close to INR 5 lakh and it would be carrying a twin cylinder 620 cc engine, expected to produce 79 BHP and 72 NM of torque. Its lightweight bod would feature aggressive designing and its expected top speed is 240 kmph. It gets a 6-speed gearbox along with a 15 liter fuel tank.

Is ABS available on Hero Hastur 620?
29 December 2022 05:48
Hero Hastur's current image does not show a sign of ABS into it. The current image is the concept version of the motorcycle, making the chances that the production version will get ABS. The government has planned for keeping the ABS mandatory on bigger bikes from 2017 and the fact makes it more practical for the Hastur to comes equipped with ABS. Single channel or double channel would be solely the decision of company on the launch time. The bike is powered by a 620 cc engine, expected to produce 79 BHP and 72 NM of torque. The bike is expected to weigh 160 kg, making it a really light weight and fast superbike.
