Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyosung GT650R is a formidable contender in the middleweight sports bike segment in India, offering a blend of powerful performance and aggressive styling. This bike is not for the faint of heart it demands a rider who can appreciate its raw power and sporty demeanor. The 647cc V-twin engine delivers 72.68 BHP at 9000 RPM and 60.9 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM, making it a joy to ride, especially once you hit the mid-range and beyond. However, it comes with some rough edges, such as significant vibrations at high revs and engine heat that can be uncomfortable in city traffic. Despite these, the GT650Rs predictable handling, stellar looks, and excellent acceleration make it a worthy machine for those seeking a thrilling ride.
Price
When the Hyosung GT650R was available in India, it was priced competitively to attract buyers in the sports bike market. The ex-showroom price for the 2013 model in Mumbai was around Rs. 5,24,400. Adding the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the on-road price would typically be around Rs. 6,00,000 to Rs. 6,20,000. This pricing positioned the GT650R as a strong alternative to other bikes in its segment, such as the Ninja 650R, offering a unique blend of performance and value. However, its important to note that prices can vary by location and may have changed since its initial launch.
Latest Updates
Saturday, 14 September 2024 08:35 AM
The 2025 Hyosung GT650R has been unveiled with a robust 647cc V-twin engine and an aggressive design. This new model features updated features such as improved braking systems and enhanced ergonomics. The bike is expected to appeal to riders looking for a powerful and stylish ride. I think this update will make the GT650R a strong contender in the mid-size sports bike segment.
Saturday, 04 July 2015 02:06 PM
There have been reports of quality control issues with earlier models of the Hyosung GT650R, including instances of parts falling off due to missing fasteners. This has raised concerns about the reliability and build quality of the bike. I believe that addressing these issues is crucial for Hyosung to regain customer trust.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 11:05 PM
The mileage of the Hyosung GT650R is something that potential buyers should consider carefully. In city conditions, the bike typically returns around 17-18 kmpl, while on the highway, it can manage 20-22 kmpl. These figures are reasonable for a sports bike of its caliber but may not be as efficient as some other models in the market. The fuel consumption is largely dependent on the riding style and conditions, but overall, it strikes a balance between performance and fuel economy. For those who plan to use the bike for both city commuting and highway rides, the mileage is acceptable, though not outstanding.
