Hero Karizma R V2 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Indian market has a lot of motorcycle brands competing to have the total dominion. But since now, there are only a couple of names that gave any respectable and praise worthy job. One among these names is Hero MotoCorp which in the last century has revolutionized the Indian motorcycle market. If we look at the past years, Hero MotoCorp has seen some big changes, first comes their breakup with Japanese major, Honda and then their partnership with USA's Erik Buell Racing (EBR) and their recent ties with Austria's company AVL and Italy's company Engine Engineering.
So, after getting its pace slowed down by its breakup, the company is now riding to make the things right and to finish their long withheld projects. Among one of these projects, is to launch restyled versions of Hero's various famous bikes which people will like to see with advancing technology as the world advances. Recently, Hero MotoCorp showcased 15 restyled products at a press conference in Gurgaon on October 10, 2013. The new Hero Karizma R was also among them and particularly attracted a lot of buzz as it hadn't seen many changes since its arrival in Indian market in 2007.
Design and Style
New Hero Karizma R comes with some new features which are worth mentioning like a new clip-on handlebar, dual round headlights with clear lens indicators, rear view mirrors mounted on front cowl, front fender giving a muscular feeling, LED brake light, bulb winker, a new sporty belly pan, stylish graphics on its body, a slightly raised tail section, 18-inch alloy wheels with wider tires, new front and side fairing, classic tail light with clear blinkers and sporty seating. The frame type of New Karizma R is tubular single cradle, diamond type chassis.
Instrument Panel
It has a spell-bounding and stunning display consisting of an analogue speedometer and tachometer, a digital fuel gauge, two digital trip meters, clock, a low fuel indicator and a stand alarm.
Weight and Fuel Tank Capacity
The new Hero Karizma R has a kerb weight of 154 kg. On the other side, fuel tank has a good capacity of 15.0 litres.
Engine and Gearbox
2015 Hero Karizma R has a 223cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, advanced microprocessor ignition system, OHC based engine which is slightly re-tuned to give a maximum power of 19.2 bhp at 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 19.35 Nm at 6000 rpm, the torque is up by 1 Nm in comparison to the 2012 Karizma R. The 223cc engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Acceleration and Performance
The Karizma R can accelerate from 0-60 in just 3.80 seconds. The commuter offers an average mileage of 40 kmpl on highways that reduces to 30 kmpl on the city roads. The Karizma R surprises everybody with its stunning performance on road and can reach a top speed of 126 kmph.
Brakes and Suspension
It has 276mm non-asbestos type disc brake at front and 130mm internal expanding shoe type (non-asbestos type) disc brakes at rear. The suspension system at front consists of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and swing arm with adjustable type hydraulic shock absorber at rear.
Tyre Size
2015 Hero Karizma R has tyre size of 80/100 18-inch on the front while 120/80 18-inch is placed at the rear end. Both the wheels come equipped with black alloys.
Shades
New Karizma R is available in five attractive color options that are Red, Yellow, White, Black and Grey.
Warranty
It also come with a vehicle warranty of 5 years or 70,000 kms and an Emission warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kms.
Price
The new Hero Karizma R is available for Rs. 83,200 approx. (ex-showroom, Pune).
Verdict
Overall, the new Hero Karizma R is a let-down in terms of design when compared to the last-generation Karizma R but it do comes equipped with lots of exciting features and a nice performing tweaked engine.

Pathetic bike
Bought it in April 2015. I have changed many important parts that do not even need a replacement in bikes older than 10 years. Some have even been replaced for 3 times in these years.
Best Features: Nothing is best
Pros: I was hooked to those looks.

Improvement advice
Hero should add a bigger tyre and engine kill switch to ZMR in 2018.
Best Features: Power

Hero Karizma R V2 Discussion
Hero has to think about secret behind the success of old karizma and design its 225cc bikes.200 stream and 250 xhr have normal design but not suitable for others.or is let down so sales were fallen.
It has more rigid structure .built quality is good. Problem is with driving Handel and back seat.front dome size is be is OK for boys but not for normal people. Hero is coming up with xtream200s for normal commuters. Better to design 200 to 300 cc bikes for sports and for long trips .each cc range should have 2 models.
it is best bike.its panels are very regid like steel frames.its hp and trq are at low rpms compare to all vehicles in this 220/225cc range.but the bike is not at all suitable for normal commuters so it was failed in sales market.hero just lift the handel bar and reduce the dome size suitably and refine the engine further.boys have bad shape haire cutting now days like sports models
engineers are making 200/to 300cc bikes with ugly looks and forcing normal customers to adjust with 100 to 150cc bikes .it is very sad .if mfrs have sports crazyness my advise is make eatch bike in two types 1 for normal type 2 for sports boys.ok.
karzma v2 is suitable for 6 ft height drivers with long arms and also for same category hero has to raise the handel bar suitably like 220f rtr200 as200 to get bake sales.
karizma r driving posture is not suitable for sales had been gone to zero.
karizmar v2 has uncomfortable handel positon for long drives.front side looks are ugly where as old one is superb looks.same comment at rear side also.It is not suitable for commuters who choose heavy bikes for long drives in place of cars.If we dont want to see the structure of bike (BURNED LADY)it is suitable for 6feet height persons who have long arms .Long arms may reach handel bar without bend to front .
Hero has put same hp and trq of old bike and making HERO XTREAM200..Discontinue the old karizma R is not right desicion of hero company MUNZAL..when there is demand for old bike you continue it and release new bike to see the sales figures and then consider which one is to be discontinued. They making many bikes like splender, splenderplus, passion passion pro super splender .so make karizma r karizma r pro, karizma r edge karizma r pleasure, karizma r racer.
karizma r gives best performance on the road so leaded the role even it has psychological hurdels by its name KARISMA KAPOOR 's section .case is in court for just change the name completely ,lift handel bar and minimise dome size.
the design of new karizma r is not good .old version has superb front and back has killing midium body man looks.front dome and backside tailend was correctly suited to old version has utterflop body shape.lack of up right driving posture .front dome looks heavy to its body.tail end is very weak not at all is better for hero to relaunch old version with improved engine.Ebr has badly damaged the karizma r .cones of new version are front dome is heavy and ugly and not suited like old version has.driving posture is not upright like old one is to be lifted or duals shold be released for peoples choice.tail portion is ugly and not matched to the body like old version has.overall the karizma r is badly damaged by ebr and sales are fall down and makes the hero to stop production. if hero has desire on sporty driving bar why it has proposed normal driving posture for xtream 200s and Hero XF3R Concept.

TOSHIBA CALLED BACK 1lakh lap tops
So when the hero called back karizma version 2 to relaunch old karizma or to modify it with xtream 200s body chasis
I read news that hero is giving offers to sale its karizma r 2015 models due to sales fall.I suggest that to recall all bikes and release them in to show rooms by fitting commuter bike handel and see the result
I asked the dealer about discontinue of karizma r and stopping of production.he said no that is only rumours
I think bazaj developed bazaj v at 5500rpm by responding to my remarks.
To
hero company
Due to customer feedback and poor sales of CB Unicorn 160, Honda has
re-launched the CB Unicorn 150 in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs.
67,028
So why dont you re-launch karizma r version-1 ?to get back in sales like earlier.
so many all most all wrote that hero (copy is pasted here)Hero has killed the Karizma by giving it a very unappealing design.
Customers haven’t accepted the facelifted model in spite of the increase
in power and sales have fallen drastically in the past few months.
How could it killed its own bike ?.NO .But hero's over expectation in designing the bike 2014 caused to failure in the sales market.Hero ignored commuters who were became lovers of karizma r.please rename it with some other suitable name hunter as dogs are coming opposit direction .feelings .
Hero XF3R Concept and xtream200 have nice design.these will be liked by both commuters and sports lovers. My adivise is desin the bike 200cc and above with dual options and provide that facility in show rooms .
I think some power elements are damaging indian bike designs and making them as un popular.karizma r is an example for it.
kawasaki versys 250 shall hit the indian bikes if its price is at 1.3 laks
karizma r 2012/2013 is sports commuter type so it has got popularity from all sections especially from general public.but new karizma r is sports type and down in the it has failed to get popularity.hero should remodel it like old model to get popularity and to raise sales.
it is not good to buy old karizma r is best as its designe is good
while telling about acclelaration you tell it speed vs rpm instead of time.karizma r old reaches 60kmph at 3800 rpm but u r telling it in 3.8 seconds .
some bike manufactures are making bikes of 200to 300cc bikes with down driving handel .karizma r sales are fallen after it is fixed with face lift down handel.I suggest that you guide them make bike with two is with normal driving handel and the second is with sports handel may be liked by few crazy sheeps and goatsnot by that tere will be no problem to choose a bike based on hp,torque ,refine ment, vibration less are common
bikes up to 250/300cc can be usable as commuter purpose .key item which change a bike from sports to normal type is manufactures shoul make bikes with both options ,i.e with normal handle and sport handle like font disk and front and back disc option .so that sales will sales of karizma r fallen .many bikes come under this sales down category .no one give much preference to bike looks other than riding comfortability .
hero badly damaged kr .it is not suitable for long drives .
i agree with amidhar .kr achives max power tq at just 7000 and 6000 rpm .I wish bazaz to develop a 220cc bike with these rpms or with much lesser rpms to give an answer to hero since hero disappointed most of kr lovers with 2014 bad handle bike .
i am avenger lover
new kr handle is very bad .
bajaz has to develop 220f for 7000rpm and 6000rpm for hp and torque like kr .then hero will go to yamaha
i owned this since april 2015, and i beat all pulser include 220 and cbr 250 yamaha r15. i am very happy with karizma r 2014. ad its handling is sooo good i have never feel as balance as this bike have.
Honda is the company to make wonderse but its bikes cost are at higher side when compare to others.Bajaz has given up scooter/scooties.Hero was downed due to diversion with honda eg face lift karizma .Now days taste of travel is changed. Now Most of people /commuters are choosing high cc bikes ,in the range150/225 ,for daily/weekly/tourse sice car travel is very cost for single one who may be an ooficer, business men,or tourer.
So the bikes of this range must be comfortable like old karizna R,unicorn,New SUZUKI gixer SXR. Karizma r is not available .New one is very bad handle.Unicorn, suzuki are 150cc range .Hunk and pulsers are available.Apache 180 handle also is not good and this bike gives vibrations at high speeds.
It is better to bring back old karizma r better to rise the handle pedle of pulser 220 f a little bit by 1 inch.
Only few % of boys go for sporty like down handle bar bikes. You make dual provision for handle barse depending on choice of buyer to get it be fixed at the show room.
We are adjusting to available bike in 200 cc range .Pulser 200 ok.But they are not considering the normal riders .ok
it has down handle so we have to lift head .is it a face lift needs surgery.
Its riding posture is not an upright and so not suitable for long tours like old karizma r
i love hero products thats y i took karizma r but hero cheated me by giving a waste bike that i never used before
my bike karizma r have petrol missing, speedometer not working suspension problem clutch is not good more over the new karizma cant achieve the power of old one i hate u hero
i opend my engine within in 1000km what a pitty bike is this????
MILLEGE 28KM
moreover service is very pathetic
Beneli TNT 250/300cc bikes are best but they are at more cost.Body is superb.Hero has to look at beneli250cc bike and should fit the karizma R engine to that .Hxr 250 cc engine to beneli 250cc body.O.K.
revanth was arrest karizma r
handel is not comfort for avreage height persons.old version was suitable for all.hero should uplift the handle a little bit of 2inches.shift the mirrors to hanle bar .
Re intoduce the karizma R old with some other name but not with resembling name karisma kapoor. It may be reason to kill it by hero company engineers.
the new Hero Karizma R is a let-down in terms of design when compared to the last-generation Karizma R.Its driving handle is to be lifted like old model. Its front dome is heayier so it should be adjusted to old karizma model. Its tail is not look good but it is not problem for rider.its power is to be raised because even 200cc p200as,p200rs have 24hp.
the new Hero Karizma R is a let-down in terms of design when compared to the last-generation Karizma R.New version is not suitable for long drives. Its sales are down as per sales graph.I think karizma dominent period is over unless the hero redesign the 2.version to better version with version 1 looks.
I ALSO BUYED THE NEW KARIZMA R VERSION 2 BUT THE HERO COMPANY DOESNT GIVE THE NEWEST BIKE THE TIRE IS USED TIRE NOT DOING SERVICE AT SERVICE CENTE IT VIBRATES A LOT PLEASE DO THE CLEARENCE I AM THE FAN OF KARIZMA R
BUT PEOPLE SEES A LOT LOOKING AWESOME
Verdict
Overall, the new Hero Karizma R is a let-down in terms of design when compared to the last-generation Karizma R
yes handle bar is down it should be raised other wise its sales will be worsen further.
Hero karizma R version 2.0 (new model) is not better than old one. To reach handle we have to bend forward. This results in back pain so it is not suitable for long travels. Its sales have been down.only 7 units have been sold out 12/2014.Hero should open eyes and remodel it suitably other wise no one will purchase it.Front dome shoul be modified and handle position should be raised.
How you place 149cc bike before 223 cc bike for comparision.I think u dont have mind. This one 149 cc even not suitable before CBZ .I think you have partiality for 149cc.Old karizma r is good bike but new karizma r is diappointed many buyars during 2014-15.I think only 7 products have been sold out in the country in 12/2014..New karizma r handle position is very bad and not comfortable for long drives.I suggest the company to bring back old karizma r with new features in 2015.Other wise it may be doubt even 7 products in 2015.Now days many people choosing 250cc bikes for long distances in place of CARS.For single drive bike is better than Car If compared with reagard to expenditure and road risks.I suggest to put adjustable back support for rider and slightly higer side handle to give more comfort during riding .With this seating position it can be easily maintanable the speed of 80-85kms/hour.waiting to see the new bullet train HXR.
AWARNESS FOR BIKERS. JUST FOLLOW THIS FOR SAFE AND HAPPY RIDING.........
Only in india, guys drive all the bikes like sports bike!. What kind of an arrogant attitude is that, yeah i know i seen young guys driving Bullet, bajaj enticer, pulsar, apache , even bajaj discover like sports bikes ( where did these guys get that stupid attitude). This causes lot of accidents (INDIA IS IN NO:2 for the most no of Traffic accidents, No: 1 is china, just check the statistics).
First of all awareness about the bikes in India
-------------------------
List of commuters that are targeted as economy bikes and for mileage (these are not sports bike, if u don't agree check with a bike expert, dont follow your friends who are just showoffs. Because some or many of the expensive bike owners are like just poster boys for their bikes, and do not have a biker attitude. A real biker knows the true essence of his bike.).
All TVS bikes
All current bajaj bikes, till pulsar 220F, except avenger ( Bajaj has promised Pulsar 400cc and a full faired version of pulsar 200ss, to be a true sports bike, lets hope and wait till 2015 end).
All hero bikes except karizma, because karizma is a toure r- check with an expert
All honda bikes in india except CBR 150r and CBR 250r., Above 250cc bikes still fall under different category.
All Yamaha Bikes in india except Yamaha R15 (first sports bike below 200 cc category), FZ series launched in india is a commuter type not a naked street bike like performance like its elder siblings( I like the FZ8 and FZ1, these are cool). Above 250cc bikes still fall under different category.

Well let me give you the best bikes for our Indian road condition, these are based on the following criteria.
Best braking and handling (safety first)
Best suspension system with tourer like comfort seats.
Reasonable power with outright performance
slick and best handling.
1. Honda CBR 250r bike
2. Karizma (known for being the first Indian bike to be considered as a tourer, except the fact like it lacks best griped tyres (front and rear) and rear disk brakes, but still u can consult a pro biking centre and make these modification).
3. Royal Enfield Bullet (only drawback is it is more heavier)
4. Kawasaki Ninja 400, 650r and ER-6n (waiting for these bikes to be released in india.),
And we have more than 30 to 40 bikes to be release in India, let’s hope the best.
Happy and safe Biking.
this 2014 model is so bad.....not dood looks .....please launch the karizma r 1.0 model.....yeah it does have definately 'killer' looks (white is awesome)
handle should be raised
Karizma R 2014 model handle is to be raised by 1.5 to 2.5 inches.I
droped from purchasing it because of this defect.I have to travel Up to
200 km so bending forward to drive the vehicle for 30 min to 3 hrs is
dificult and that would resuts back pain.We can bend forward for 10 to
15 min for sports fuck but not suitable for long travels.Hunk handle is
also to be rised a litle bit by 1inch.Old karizma R handle is excellent
and good and suitable for long journey.I like any bike which has refined
engine butter smooth at high rpm/speed without vibrations.Chasis is
comfertable for 5feet 3 to 5inchess persons. It should be strong enough
for down loads.our bt roads are very bad so the body should not vibrate
much more. The weight sould be 134 to 160 kgs.It should give milage of 40
to 45 on high ways and that is +point.Sporty (FACE BOOK)looks is not
main point to consider because it is not fucking zone to give marks to
face book(sporty looks).I will expect this bike with light modifications
with 2015 model.I want to how many bike of 2014 model have been sold
out so far and whether it is at higher side or -ve side when compare to
old karizma-R.
karizma R...its best...my karizma give a mlileage 25Kmpl....its flying on the road....nobody overtake my karizma...its so good...:)
old karizma r is better than new karzma r
hey...booked karizma r..90000 rs onroad prize ,kollam[kerala]
I dnt knw y tze fucking motherfuckers gve sum bogus comments...motherchod tere ko aagar itna mileage ka pari hai to cycle chala..
i dnno but compare to 150cc cbr i reached 140 km/hr while pulsar 220f and karizma r 225 this bikes cannot reached that much of speed mut my cbr only 150cc reahed this
Do anyone know the On-road price for these bikes (Karizma R and Karizma ZMR 2014 models) in Kochi, Kerala?
Overall, the new Hero Karizma R is a let-down in terms of design when compared to the last-generation Karizma R.Why they let it down in the designe give full comparision statement/report between 2013&2014 models
i think karizam is outdated hero making us fool..it's not proper sports bike if you look for in this segment...pulsar 220 is option of course its not as good quality. ...but you want true fun of biking .you should go for yamaha r15 , honda 250 r , pulsar 200ns, n most imp ktm 200 duke ....Since 2003 karizma r is available ...and karizma doesn't have rear disk brake . no Digital Speedometer , and no wide tyres.... i thing hero should upgrade it not just cosmetic change in karizma ...new karzma 2014 is not good as much as in Features ...in pulsar 220 ..greater power, wide tyres , good handling and most imp its looks much batter then 2014 karizam....
