Yamaha has kept the R15S V3 as a more affordable and practical variant of the R15 series, with features like a standard rear radial tyre and optional grippy Metzelers. However, the fit and finish levels could be improved, and the LED headlight is not as bright as expected. I believe these minor drawbacks dont overshadow the bikes overall value.

Bike is amazing in the 150cc segment. Most loving is braking system but there is no abs normal disc, the brake is very good.

R15s Experience After 3000kms

Summary

I have done 3000 kms till date and I'm writing the review. Initially the bike was not smooth even after the first service i.e. 1000 kms
I have done 3000 kms till date and I'm writing the review. Initially the bike was not smooth even after the first service i.e. 1000 kms, it was giving a fuel efficiency of 25-30 kmpl till the first service and after the first service, it was giving 33-37 kmpl, and now I am getting 38-42 kmpl after the second service. But the acceleration is incredible I was able to beat Karizma R & Pulsar 220F within no time. The handling is so smooth that I could corner up to the max angle and I have topped 137 kmph till now on Hyderabad-Bangalore highway. The best bike up to date as I had the first edition of R15 (2009) and used it for 6 yrs without a major repair even after ripping it to the max limit. I hope the new engine of r15 delivers the same power as the old edition. I problem with this bike is if u want to brake hard the rear tyre slips a little but will be in the control of the rider.

My Experience with this Beast

I have been using her since Dec 2016 and this is my second R15 . It is totally stunning in looks and performance and also in handing and braking system.

I have been using her since Dec 2016 and this is my second R15 . It is totally stunning in looks and performance and also in handing and braking system.Though she is build with 150cc engine, still catch up 180 cc segment bikes. No bikes in 150cc segment can catch this beast at first. I assure the R15 owners that , it will make one feel like racing in a track at top ends and also in finishing the corners because of its riding position. I don't know what others think about it and I never mind about that. I love this scary machine and this is from my experience....

India Yamaha Motor has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the new YZF R15S in our market. Instead of the split-style unit found on the YZF R15 V4.0, this new model has a single-piece step-up seat. The motorcycle is available in two colors: Racing Blue and Matte Black.

India Yamaha Motor has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the new YZF R15S in our market. Instead of the split-style unit found on the YZF R15 V4.0, this new model has a single-piece step-up seat. The motorcycle is available in two colors: Racing Blue and Matte Black.

The design elements of the new R15S are largely inspired by its elder sibling, the R1. It has all-new LED headlights and an aerodynamic front cowl with an air vent up front. The large windscreen and stylish rear-view mirrors add to the sports bike's bold appearance. It also gets a new front fairing with sharp cuts and creases that blends with the muscularly designed fuel tank. The fuel tank also has knee recesses to make it easier to place your knees while riding. The black-coloured side panels add to the R15S’ style statement and look quite appealing. With a sleek LED tail light and tapered rear cowl, the tail end looks sharp and edgy. It also gets a new black tyre cover that closely fits the rear tyre. The motorcycle has a new exhaust with a faux carbon fibre finish.

An updated 155cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine powers the Yamaha R15S. With a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces a max power of 18.6 HP at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.1 Nm at 8,500 rpm. Variable Valve Action (VVA) is also included in the latest Yamaha R15S. It improves the engine's efficiency by adding flexibility to the valve train.

Yamaha claims it has a top speed of 144 km/h and a fuel economy of 40 km/l. Another difference is that the new R15S now has a slipper clutch. It improves rear wheel stability, especially during aggressive downshifting.

The delta box frame serves as the foundation for the R15S. The suspension consists of standard telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock at the rear. Yamaha has equipped the R15S with 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The tyres are now wider than the previous version, measuring 100/80 in the front and 140/70 in the rear, with the latter being a radial. A 282mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear handle braking duties. This braking system is linked to a dual-channel ABS system. It helps the Yamaha R15S stop in a short distance even at triple-digit speeds.

The feature list on the Yamaha R15S includes a multi-function LCD instrument cluster with a gear-shift & VVA indicator. A side stand indicator with engine cut-off function, and a connector for USB charging.

Hello, Can anyone tell me how to change the sound of bike with good Airfilter, I don't like K&N filter its sound is so heavy I need light and decent sound but more then original sound.

I book Yamaha R15S. What a bike.... it is so sexy.Now I am 32 & I have riding exp of about 9 years. In this time I drove many types of bikes but it is unique. The front part is much heavier than rear part & the ground clearance is low. So the centre of gravity is low , means better handling in any speed. We all know the build quality of Yamaha bikes are top notch and problem is only getting parts availability. If you solve this problem then go for it. You will get all info of bike on various websites. Honestly the performance is even better than R15v2. You can also go for cbr150r but I don't like switch gear , it same like my HH Glamour. Mileage will nearly 40. Engine respond is unbelievable. When I took test drive of this bike believe me everybody is looking at me. I am very happy with my decision now its your turn. Please change the back light r15 s as r15 v2...it greatly reduce the beauty of the bike...with normal seat and same back side look as v2 greatly increase the sale of this bike......(back light as same as r15 v2)...pls change it on nxt version ..this is the main drawback we dont select this bike..i m college student most of college matr go for another bikes due this back side look only...

Yamaha have to launch a bike in a range of 50 to 60 thousands in 100 cc and have to give a look of r15 s type look .....
The above said is my dream bike Bcoz it will be the cheapest but stylish and best selling bike in india....

I'm one of the proud owner of R15 s :) :) It gives 40+ in the city and 35+ in the highway (Depends upon the speed). First of all, I'd like to say the color white looks charm and I was about to book R15 V2.0 But, luckily, that was the day when few new machines arrived the showroom for demo. I am the first customer of R15s in Delhi NCR... There is no problem till the date except its side mirrors. Are they foldable ? They're not easily adjustable... Any solution for this ?
