The basic engine platform of the KTM Duke 690 R and Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is the same, though they are aimed at slightly different riding styles. The Duke 690 R is presented as a more street-oriented naked bike, while the 701 Supermoto is a bit more dirt bike-oriented. The difference in design philosophy results in differences in ergonomics, suspension setup and overall riding character. There is often great debate amongst riders as to which bike is better for daily use, taking into account factors such as comfort, practicality, and fun factor. For daily use, the Duke 690 R is much more comfortable. After an hour of riding, the 701’s seat feels more like a plank.
