How does the FZ-10 rate when it comes to long distance touring comfort in comparison to other naked bikes?

Yamaha FZ-10 is often considered a street bike with aggressive styling and high performance engine. But many riders are wondering if it could be a long distance touring bike. This topic causes a debate among motorcycle fanatics about the balance between sportiness and comfort in naked bikes. From seating position to wind protection to fuel range to ergonomics in general, riders compare the FZ-10 to other popular naked bikes and sport tourers. Its upright riding position and powerful engine apparently make it ideal for touring, but some may be turned off by wind fatigue and a stiff seat. Most of the time the conversation revolves around bikes like the Kawasaki Z1000, BMW S1000R and even more touring oriented bikes such as the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT.

I have done a 1000 mile weekend on my FZ 10 and it was surprisingly comfortable. Long rides are great upright, but you want a windscreen for highway speeds.
