The FZ-10’s reliability compared to the Euro competitors BMW S1000R and Aprilia Tuono?

Many motorcycle buyers, especially when comparing Japanese bikes to their European counterparts, like to know that their new bike is reliable. When it comes to the Yamaha FZ 10, the Japanese engineering usually creates some debate when put up against the European naked bikes that are the likes of the BMW S1000R and Aprilia Tuono. Riders talk about reliability in all its forms, from engine durability, through electrical systems, maintenance costs, and overall build quality. Others say that because the FZ-10 is a simpler design, and because Yamaha has a good reliability track record, the European brands have really improved in this area. It often includes talk of personal experiences, dealer support, and the long term ownership costs of such high performance machines.

The FZ-10 is way more reliable than no contest. Pure Japanese engineering. Mine is at 50,000 miles and not a single issue with it besides regular maintenance.
