Absolutely! Through some pretty rough patches I’ve taken my Celerio and it has never scraped the bottom. During monsoons, it’s a lifesaver.

Having owned both 'exciting' cars and 'safe' options like Brezza, I can vouch for the utility of going with the tried and tested route. The relief of having a reliable, easy to maintain vehicle lasts much longer than the thrill of a new, feature packed car.

People are definitely settling, I would say. The Brezza is out of date compared to its rivals. You can get much better features, performance and even looks for the same price. It's not that it is a Maruti, that doesn't make it the best option. To that extent, people need to look beyond the brand and see what they’re actually getting for their money.
Is the Brezza's 4 star safety rating genuinely safe or merely the best of a bad bunch of Maruti offerings?

To someone who has upgraded from an old Maruti to a Brezza, the difference in Build quality and safety features is like night and day. It's not the safest car on the road, but it’s a huge improvement. We sometimes forget how far Indian cars have come in safety terms.

This engine is living in the past, Maruti. Lastly, turbo engines give you better performance and are also much more fun to drive. The Brezza doesn’t feel very powerful on highways. Maruti should have caught up with the competition offering a turbo option, it's high time.

I feel like we're overdoing it with looks. The interior of the Brezza is not award winning, but it's tough and practical. If you use it for a few years you'll appreciate that more than some flashy design that will wear out quickly.

I think it's a bit of both. People come in the door because of the brand name, but they keep coming back because of what the car is worth. Without the cars delivering, Maruti wouldn't have maintained that loyalty.

It’s good, but we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves. In most cases, any decent driver can make it through mountain roads in most cars. In such a small car, you are closer to the edge, and it just feels more dramatic.

Modding is cool, just remember it’s still an Alto. You should be focused on upgrading things like suspension and brakes. Trying to squeeze out a few extra horsepower will make a bigger difference in real world driving than that.

Absolutely not. All the safety features new drivers can get, they need. These days the basic kit of the K10 just doesn't cut it. You'll spend a little more, but get something with better crash protection and stability control.

That depends on what’s important to you. But if all you need is a city runabout, you won't find a more efficient vehicle than the K10. However, for longer trips you might miss out on some of those extra features.

It's not just that something has to not break down. But I wouldn't call the Alto reliable for all conditions because it feels unsafe at high speeds.

Small size is a lifesaver in the city traffic. I can shimmy into places that SUVs can only wish they could get their fat asses into.

I honestly like the boxy design. Driving it is like driving a mini bus, and that extra headroom is a godsend for tall people as I am. Plus, it’s so much easier to park than those curvy SUVs that you can’t see the corners.

It's all about trade-offs. It’s a great visibility, especially in India where you have to be on the lookout for potholes, cows, etc. Yeah but you have to be more careful on sharp turns. It is not a sports car, drive it like the MPV that it is.

I have my Xylo in the city every day and it’s a great bike. I love that the seating position is so high, it’s perfect for being able to see over traffic, and the spacious interior is a lifesaver if I’m hauling stuff for work. It's not as nimble as a hatchback, far from it, but it certainly isn't unusable.
