Long highway trips, how does the Celerio fair against the city?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Many owners use the Celerio for longer journeys, but it is often sold as an ideal city car. Essentially this question is asking how versatile and how well the car does outside its primary urban use? For example, high speed stability, comfort on long distance, fuel efficiency on highways than city conditions, and adequacy of power for overtaking maneuvers are important. Real world experiences of owners who have taken their Celerios on road trips are discussed and compared with other cars in its segment and even some from the higher segments. It also explores car's practicality for families who'd like to have it as their only vehicle for both daily commute and occasional long drive.

Highway performance is decent, but you start to wonder why it's so noisy on the road at high speeds on long trips.

I've had a few 1,000km plus trips. It’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable enough to get the job done. The trick is to manage expectations.

It’s OK for solo or couple trips. It is underpowered on inclines, but add a full load of passengers and luggage and it feels underpowered.

Overtaking on highways it struggles a little. You have to plan your moves ahead.

I find it great for highways. It's easy to drive for hours with light steering and the mileage is great.

Short highway stints are fine, but anything longer than 3 hours and you can feel its limits. They aren't good for long trips.

Surprisingly good! It was comfortable, and I did a 500km trip. It’s not the fastest, but it’s steady and efficient.
