Does the Celerio's high ground clearance make any difference on Indian roads?

Many Indian car buyers want ground clearance because of the varied and often difficult road conditions in the country. Ground clearance of the Celerio is relatively high for the segment and has generated discussions about the practical benefits of it. In this topic we analyse the impact of the clearance on daily driving, particularly in roads with poor infrastructure or during the monsoon season. Additionally we also cover the trade offs between ground clearance and other areas such as handling and stability when traveling at higher speeds. The argument even goes so far as to compare the Celerio's abilities to those of compact SUVs and crossovers, which are hard sold for their ground clearance.

Absolutely! Through some pretty rough patches I’ve taken my Celerio and it has never scraped the bottom. During monsoons, it’s a lifesaver.

It’s fine, but it’s not an offroader by any stretch. Still I have to be careful over big speed breakers.

The wheelbase is long and sometimes creates problems, but the clearance is good. It's a trade-off.

I think it's overhyped. It’s better than some sedans, of course, but there’s plenty of hatchback out there that can handle the same roads.

Being someone who has driven the old and the new Celerio, I can tell you the new model has more clearance and that is helpful.

For city use it's good, but on highways, I think the high clearance makes it a bit unstable at speeds.

The Celerio’s clearance is a breath of fresh air, coming from a lower car. No need to stress about every little bump anymore.
