Does the Alto K10's basic features make up for its fuel efficiency as compared to rivals?

The Alto K10 is known for its great fuel efficiency, this is one of the Alto K10's biggest strengths. For many buyers, this frugality at the pump is a big factor, especially for those shopping for an economical city runabout. But the K10 is also remembered for its pretty basic feature set for some of its rivals, which come with more modern amenities and tech features. This throws up a debate amongst potential buyers and car enthusiasts as to whether to trade off running costs for creature comforts. A few say it's worth the expense in features and the increase in fuel consumption given the savings over time on fuel, while the others say we pay for certain conveniences and safety features with the price and the increase in fuel consumption.

Absolutely! It doesn't take long for the money you'll save on fuel to add up. If you really need aftermarket gadgets, you can always add them, but you can't make a thirsty car efficient.

No way. I'd rather pay a little extra at the pump and get things like a decent infotainment system, and better safety features. It's 2024, not 1994!

That depends on what’s important to you. But if all you need is a city runabout, you won't find a more efficient vehicle than the K10. However, for longer trips you might miss out on some of those extra features.

It’s got great fuel efficiency, but let’s be honest, the K10 feels very dated inside. I’d rather have a Kwid, which offers a bit more kit without going over the top.

It's not just about features. That simplicity means there’s less to go wrong. In the long run, reliability and low running costs count for a lot.

I think the K10's efficiency advantage is overstated by people. Not far behind modern rivals in terms of comfort and safety. It's not as big a gap as it once was.

The K10's efficiency is a bonus for me, but I bought it for its peppy engine and fun to drive nature. It doesn’t need to be loaded with tech to be fun.
