How well does the KTM 125 Adventure do in the urban environment compared to regular 125cc bikes?
15 January 2025 06:48
I've tried some other 125s, and it's thirstier than them. However, that bigger front wheel and beefier construction all add weight. But it's not a dealbreaker.
Is the KTM 125 Adventure a long-distance tourer?
15 January 2025 06:48
In fact, I have ridden around the Black Hills on my 125 Adventure on a couple of weekend tours. Managing expectations is all it’s about. No, it's not a speed demon, but it's comfortable and sips fuel like crazy. Perfect for budget touring!
How does the KTM 125 Adventure stack up against other learner-friendly adventure bikes?
15 January 2025 06:48
In my opinion, none of these 125 “adventure” bikes is really for proper off-roading. They're styled tough, but they're not really. I might as well get a regular 125 and save myself the cash.
Is the KTM 125 Adventure just a show-off, or can it handle a bit of off-road?
15 January 2025 06:48
If you had some knobbier tires and a skid plate, you'd be surprised what this little beast can do. It's not exactly an enduro, but it's fun off-road.
What are KTM 1290 Super Duke R owners complaining about most?
14 January 2025 08:25
Apart from that, I’ve heard about a few electrical gremlins, like random warning lights or the TFT screen fizzing like when the Atheos P51 was being wired up. Not big things, but annoying for such an expensive bike.
Can the KTM 1290 Super Duke R actually handle long-distance touring?
14 January 2025 08:25
If you set it up right, it’s actually not bad for touring. I’ve added a small windscreen and some soft luggage, and it’s been great for weekend getaways. The comfort seat helps a lot too.
Is KTM's 1290 Super Duke R worth the big premium price tag?
14 January 2025 08:25
If you think about the components and engineering that goes into it, though, it’s a lot of money, but it starts to make sense. That monster engine, WP suspension, and Brembo brakes don’t come cheap.
In real-world riding, how does the KTM 1290 Super Duke R compare to its competitors?
14 January 2025 08:25
I've ridden most of the big naked bikes, and the Super Duke R just feels different. It’s just so much more character on the V-twin compared to the inline fours, and the chassis is so nimble for a bike that’s so powerful.
Is the KTM 1290 Super Duke R too much of a bike to commute on daily?
14 January 2025 08:25
After two years of commuting on my 1290 SDR, I'm surprised how versatile it is. It's got stupid power, sure, but the electronics make it manageable. On top of that, the upright riding position is traffic friendly.
How does the KTM 990 Supermoto R ride for bigger riders?
14 January 2025 08:15
Being a 6'2" rider, I find the 990 SMR a surprisingly comfortable bike. Taller folks will find the upright position works well, and there is plenty of legroom. No complaints here!
Are people really right about the KTM 990 Supermoto R's maintenance being that bad?
14 January 2025 08:15
It's been a money pit for me. However, it has become fun to ride, but the constant problems have made it sour. The maintenance headaches are why I’m thinking of selling mine.
Is the KTM 990 Supermoto R the ultimate hooligan bike?
14 January 2025 08:15
There's a league of its own when it comes to the 990 SMR. Yes, newer bikes may go faster on paper, but there is nothing like that V-twin and the raw nature of the bike. It’s a proper analog experience in a world that’s digital.
How come the fuel consumption of the KTM 990 Supermoto R?
14 January 2025 08:15
There are plenty of reasons to modify the bike, but the thirsty engine is just one of them. Bigger tank, anyone? That's all part of the fun of having a bike like this, creating it as your own.
Does the KTM 990 SMT make a good tourer?
14 January 2025 08:05
It really all just depends on the rider. Some guys tour on their SMTs all the time; some think they are too uncomfortable to use after a few hours. I personally believe that it finds a good balance between performance and comfort.
It’s time to discover whether the KTM 990 SMT has been overtaken by more modern alternatives or whether it’s still a competitive offering.
14 January 2025 08:05
On paper it’s been surpassed, but not necessarily in terms of real-world enjoyment. The SMT provides a raw, connected riding experience that many riders still prefer over modern alternatives that are more sanitized.
Is the KTM 990 SMT the ultimate do-it-all bike?
14 January 2025 08:05
That depends on your definition of "do it all." The SMT is hard to beat if you are looking to have a bike that covers sporty riding and light touring. If you want serious off-road capability or long-distance comfort, there are better options.
Is the KTM 990 SMT a nightmare to maintain as a home mechanic?
14 January 2025 08:05
Yeah, it's more work compared to a Japanese bike. That’s part of the charm for some of us, though. You will, however, have to be prepared for some specialized tools and a good service manual.
Is the KTM 990 SMT really a hooligan bike?
14 January 2025 08:05
The 990 SMT is whatever you want it to be. It’s an absolute riot in the right hands. It’s happy to cruise along at a relaxed pace if that’s what you’re in the mood for, but it’s also happy to take you fast.
How does the KTM 690 SMC-R compare when it comes to reliability with its rivals?
14 January 2025 07:50
Its engine is solid, but its electronics can be a bit finicky. It may be a bit of a stretch, but I trust it more than my old DRZ.
Why is the KTM 690 so famous for its false neutral?
14 January 2025 07:50
Are you kidding? When you’re trying to accelerate and all of a sudden you’re in neutral, that’s scary. Dealbreaker for me.
