How come the fuel consumption of the KTM 990 Supermoto R?
geeta kumari 14 January 2025 08:15
The KTM 990 Supermoto R is a great performer, but it has also developed a bit of a reputation for being a bit of a fuel swiller. Many owners joke about fuel gauge watching during spirited rides. This has long been debated as a major drawback of the bike's design or as just another part of the high-performance package. Rider feedback is mixed when it comes to the frequent fuel stops: some riders argue it's a small price to pay for the bike's capabilities, while others find it frustrating for longer trips or daily use. Discussion also takes place as to whether aftermarket modifications or riding technique can improve the situation. Now we will discuss the different opinions on what the 990 SMR wants in fuel and how it affects the entire ownership experience.

It's a gas guzzler, no doubt. But who cares? You don't buy a 990 SMR to be fuel efficient. Smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon.
