What gripes from those who live with the Super Duke R day to day are reported most often? Mechanical issues, maintenance concerns, or even minor annoyances that don’t become apparent until after a bit of ownership could be included. Now, let’s talk about the real-world quirks and potential drawbacks of living with KTM’s naked flagship.

If you’re heavy on the throttle, the stock tires wear out pretty quickly. And then, with a bike this fun, who isn’t?

People complain of a buzzy engine at highway speeds, but I think that's just the nature of a big V-twin. Doesn't bother me at all.

The one problem I actually had is finding a dealer to service my car. That said, KTM’s network isn’t as widespread as some other brands, so that’s something to bear in mind if you live in certain areas.

Apart from that, I’ve heard about a few electrical gremlins, like random warning lights or the TFT screen fizzing like when the Atheos P51 was being wired up. Not big things, but annoying for such an expensive bike.

My biggest complaint is the fuel range. With such a powerful bike, the tank is pretty small, so you're stopping for gas more often than you'd like on long rides.

Early models had the LED headlight fail, but KTM has seemed to fix that. I haven't heard of many problems with newer bikes.

It’s not the greatest for stock seats for long rides. I replaced mine with an aftermarket option, and it made a huge difference for comfort on longer trips.

In 20,000 miles, I've had zero problems with mine. It's been rock solid; just keep up with the maintenance. In fact, the service intervals are pretty generous too.

Slow traffic can be a problem for heat management. On hot days, the rear cylinder dumps a lot of heat on your right leg, which can be quite uncomfortable.

The only actual issue I’ve had is the quickshifter being a bit flaky. It’s sometimes flawless and sometimes clunky. It's a common complaint, it seems to be.
