Is the KTM 125 Adventure a long-distance tourer?
The KTM 125 Adventure is often praised for its agility and fuel efficiency in the urban environment, but there is not so much told about the capabilities for long trips. Those considering this bike as a touring machine may have wondered about comfort over long distances, luggage capacity, and highway speed. Moreover, with a smaller engine, there are issues that its performance on different terrains and inclines characteristic to adventure riding is not the same as a bigger on. People who like the weight of the bike and people who need power for touring debate this topic. You might also want to think about what modifications or aftermarket accessories could improve its touring potential.
No way, man. The 125 is a great little thing to zip around town on, but it's going to struggle on long trips. On highways you’ll be revving the nuts off it just to keep up.
In fact, I have ridden around the Black Hills on my 125 Adventure on a couple of weekend tours. Managing expectations is all it’s about. No, it's not a speed demon, but it's comfortable and sips fuel like crazy. Perfect for budget touring!
I think that would depend on where you're touring. Backroads and scenic routes? Hell yeah! Interstate highways? You're going to have a bad time.
But, hey, any bike can tour if you want it enough. The 125 is not ideal, but having made a few mods to take some luggage as well as being in a relaxed attitude, it could be a fun challenge.
Touring on a 125? You're brave! I would think about how difficult it would be to overtake someone on a flat road with no power and then further down the road with headwinds. And where are you going to put all your gear?
I've seen people tour on 50cc scooters, so a 125 Adventure is definitely doable. Right, it’s more about the journey than the destination.
It is honestly a terrible idea. This will stop traffic and put you in danger. If you want to tour, save up for at least a 300cc.
