I want a performance bike, which one should I buy - KTM RC 200 or KTM 390 Duke?
18 April 2025 03:45

If you are looking for a performance bike with a strong focus on track-oriented capabilities and aerodynamics, the KTM RC 200 would be an excellent choice. It features a 199.5 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine producing 25 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The RC 200 is designed with race-inspired bodywork, optimized aerodynamics, and premium components like WP APEX suspension and Bosch 9.1 MB Two Channel ABS, making it ideal for both track and street performance. On the other hand, if you prefer a more versatile and powerful bike that balances street riding with performance, the KTM 390 Duke might be the better option. The 390 Duke comes with a 373 cc single-cylinder engine, producing significantly more power and torque compared to the RC 200. It also features a more upright riding position, making it more comfortable for daily commuting while still offering robust performance. Ultimately, the choice depends on whether you prioritize track-focused design and handling or a balance of street comfort and higher power output .

Which one is better - KTM RC 200, RE Classic 350 & TVS Apache RTR 160?
18 April 2025 03:15

The choice between the KTM RC 200, Royal Enfield Classic 350, and TVS Apache RTR 160 depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you are looking for a pure sports bike experience with aggressive styling, superior handling, and high-performance capabilities, the KTM RC 200 is the better option. It features a 199.5 cc liquid-cooled engine producing 25 PS of power, a 6-speed transmission, and advanced suspension like the WP APEX USD forks and a 10-step adjustable monoshock. It also comes with dual-channel ABS, a digital LCD console, and a fuel tank capacity of 13.7 liters, making it ideal for both track and street riding. In contrast, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a cruiser-style motorcycle that emphasizes comfort and retro styling. It is powered by a 349 cc air-cooled engine producing 20.3 PS of power and has a 5-speed transmission. It is known for its relaxed riding posture and is better suited for long-distance touring rather than high-performance riding. The TVS Apache RTR 160 is a commuter-sports bike that offers a balance between performance and practicality. It features a 159.7 cc air-cooled engine producing 15.6 PS of power and a 5-speed transmission. While it has sporty styling and decent handling, it lacks the raw performance and advanced features of the KTM RC 200. Therefore, if performance, handling, and sports bike features are your priority, the KTM RC 200 is the better choice. If you prefer a comfortable, retro-styled cruiser, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 might be more suitable. For a balance between performance and everyday commuting, the TVS Apache RTR 160 could be the way to go.

What are the problems in KTM Duke 200?
17 April 2025 23:15

The KTM Duke 200 is prone to several common issues. One of the most significant problems is the low oil pressure, often caused by a faulty clutch side gasket that does not seal properly, leading to oil leaks and reduced pressure. Replacing this gasket and ensuring it is properly sealed can resolve this issue. Another common problem is the leaking of the stator wire socket rubber, which can be fixed by resealing the area with a gasket maker. Additionally, wiring harness issues can cause various problems, including starting difficulties and error codes, which may require repairs or replacements. Starting problems, sometimes accompanied by a clicking sound, can be due to low voltage issues, often related to the stator coil. Regular maintenance such as changing the oil, replacing the fuel filter, and adjusting the chain can also help mitigate these problems. How will the Pulsar SS400 compare against KTM's product line?
31 January 2025 10:54
I believe that Bajaj will keep the SS400 one step below RC390 in terms of performance, deliberately. Especially since they profit from the partnership with KTM, they won't be keen to cannibalize KTM sales. The SS400 should be more comfortable and practical for daily use but less track focused than the KTM.
How will the Pulsar SS400 compare against KTM's product line?
31 January 2025 10:54
You're underestimating Bajaj's ambition. They will probably throw the lot at the SS400 to prove they can play at the top table. It could even outdo the RC390 in some aspects such as top speed or comfort. There is no doubt that KTM will have to step up their game.
How will the Pulsar SS400 compare against KTM's product line?
31 January 2025 10:54
I expect a lot of parts sharing between the SS400 and KTM bikes. That is not a bad thing, we might get KTM level components at Bajaj prices. Really, the difference will likely be more 'tuning and ergonomics' as opposed to hardware capabilities outright.
