Datsun GO Plus A

About
The Datsun GO Plus A is a compact station wagon that combines the practicality of a multi-seater vehicle with the affordability of a hatchback. It is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 68 PS and 104 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle features a spacious interior, although the third row is best suited for children due to limited space. It boasts a 347-liter boot space with the third row folded, making it ideal for family trips. The GO Plus also comes with modern features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED DRLs, and power-adjustable mirrors. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. With its high ground clearance of 180mm and light driving controls, the GO Plus is well-suited for both city driving and occasional highway use. However, it lacks in terms of premium feel and has some cost-cutting evident in its build quality. Despite this, it remains a viable option for those seeking a practical, feature-rich, and affordable family vehicle.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Datsun GO Plus A is a practical and affordable option for those seeking a versatile vehicle that can serve both as a family car and a compact station wagon. While it has made significant strides in terms of features and safety, such as the inclusion of dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, it still falls short in some areas. The engine, though adequate for city driving, lacks low-end grunt and can be noisy at higher RPMs. The handling is light and easy to maneuver in urban settings, but it feels vague at high speeds and exhibits noticeable body roll. Despite these drawbacks, the GO Plus offers good boot space, a compliant urban ride, and a feature-rich interior, making it a decent buy for those prioritizing practicality and affordability.
Price
The Datsun GO Plus A is priced competitively in the Indian market, with an ex-showroom price ranging from approximately Rs. 6.37 lakhs to Rs. 7 lakhs, depending on the variant and location. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, can range from around Rs. 7.5 lakhs to Rs. 8.5 lakhs. This pricing makes the GO Plus an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers who need a vehicle that can accommodate multiple passengers and offer sufficient storage space. However, its important to note that prices can vary based on state taxes and other local factors, so its wise to check with local dealers for the most accurate pricing.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 11:55 AM Nissan India has announced a price hike for the Datsun GO+ by around 5%, citing increased costs. The current prices for the Datsun GO+ range from Rs. 3.86 lakh to Rs. 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom), and the hike will add Rs. 19,000 to Rs. 30,000 depending on the variant. This move is part of the companys effort to balance costs while maintaining safety standards. I think this price increase might affect its competitiveness in the market.
Thursday, 01 June 2023 10:27 PM Nissan India has started exporting the India-made Datsun GO+ to South Africa, highlighting the vehicles global appeal. This move is part of Nissans strategy to utilize Indian manufacturing for international markets. Its a positive sign for the Indian automotive industry and the Datsun brand.
Sunday, 15 May 2022 06:57 PM The Datsun GO+ comes with a single 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, available with both a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT. The engine produces 77PS and 104Nm of torque, making it suitable for urban driving. The CVT variant offers smooth gear transitions, which is a plus for city commuters.
Sunday, 10 April 2022 01:44 PM Datsun has improved the safety features of the GO+, including the addition of Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) or electronic stability control (ESC) in the top-spec T and T(O) variants. This, along with standard dual front airbags and ABS with EBD, significantly enhances the vehicles safety credentials. I think this is a crucial step in regaining consumer trust.
Sunday, 20 March 2022 08:46 PM The Datsun GO+ is available in five trims: D, A, A(O), T, and T(O), priced from Rs. 4.25 lakh to Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The top variants come with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 14-inch alloy wheels, and keyless entry, making it a competitive option in the sub-compact MPV segment.
Tuesday, 15 February 2022 08:59 PM The GO+ has a seating capacity of up to 7 occupants, making it a practical choice for large families or those needing extra space. The tumble fold seats and rear charging sockets add to its utility. I believe this makes it a strong contender in the multi-purpose vehicle segment.
Friday, 10 January 2020 08:38 PM Nissan is considering shutting down the Datsun brand globally, which could mean the GO+ might be rebranded as a Nissan or discontinued altogether. This uncertainty might affect sales and consumer interest in the short term. I think its crucial for Nissan to clarify their plans to maintain market stability.
Wednesday, 10 October 2018 07:54 AM The Datsun GO+ has undergone significant updates, including a reinforced structure to comply with upcoming Indian crash test norms. The vehicle now comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and rear parking sensors as standard features across all variants. This focus on safety is a welcome change, especially given the previous models poor safety ratings. I believe these improvements will boost consumer confidence.
Wednesday, 19 September 2018 05:09 PM Datsun India has revealed the facelifted version of the GO+ MPV, which includes cosmetic upgrades such as a new hexagonal black grille, sweptback headlamps, and LED daytime running lights. The interior has also been enhanced with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, power windows, and power steering. These updates aim to make the GO+ more appealing in the competitive entry-level segment.
Wednesday, 19 September 2018 04:22 PM The facelifted Datsun GO+ is set to launch in India, with pre-bookings open for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. The new model features revised exterior styling and several new features, including a manual AC with heater and rear charging sockets. Deliveries are expected to begin on the launch day. I think the addition of these features will make the GO+ a more attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 05:42 PM The Datsun GO Plus A offers a respectable mileage, with an ARAI-certified figure of 19.02 kmpl for the manual transmission and 18.57 kmpl for the CVT. In real-world conditions, you can expect mileage to be slightly lower, around 15-17 kmpl, depending on driving habits and road conditions. This makes the GO Plus a reasonable choice for those concerned about running costs, especially given its fuel-efficient engine and the current fuel prices in India.

Datsun Go Plus can be registered as a Taxi without any problem. You will have to consult your nearest RTO office and see the rules for registration of a car as a Taxi with 7 seats and then with a small 1.2 L petrol engine. It may get considered under a hatchback or sedan category. The car comes with enough space for 5 passengers but the third row of seats are very tight and can accommodate children only.

No, it is not available in CNG version. Only Petrol version is available in four trims- D, D1, A and T in the market for the price varies from 3,79,000 to 4,61,000. A Perfect Example of Disaster..

I am riding Datsun Go+ from last four months. It don't have that spark which other SUVs have. I regret my decision now. The good thing about this car is, it cost you less, backward slanted seats and the feel that you own a MUV, that's it. Exterior look is good no doubt but its 3rd row is just useless. My kids felt suffocated while seating there and slopping design of this MUV somehow make 3rd row passenger uncomfortable due to less headroom or uncomfortable seat. On the long distance travel, 3rd row become luggage room and my family fits in first two rows only. Moreover, adjusting the left ORVM is a pain for the driver, there is no adjustment stalks inside. The glass used at rear end appear large from outside but actually its 50% usable only. Even the legroom is just satisfactory at the 2nd row. So I would like to recommend here that don't go for this car because of low cost just expand your budget and buy other SUV.
