USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Nissan Patrol V8 is a behemoth of a vehicle that stands out in a market increasingly dominated by more efficient, downsized engines. With its 5.6-liter V8 engine producing 399.62 bhp and 560 Nm of torque, this SUV delivers unparalleled power and a distinctive V8 soundtrack. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option, its performance is more than sufficient to handle both urban and off-road terrains with ease. The Patrols comfort is also noteworthy, with a ride quality that absorbs even the worst road conditions and an interior that rivals many luxury sedans. However, its handling, though surprisingly light and effortless, lacks the crispness and feedback one might expect from a vehicle of its size. Overall, the Nissan Patrol V8 is a robust, comfortable, and powerful SUV that is ideal for those who value tradition and capability over modern efficiency.
Price
The Nissan Patrol V8 is priced at approximately INR 1 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). When you factor in the various taxes and registration fees, the on-road price can easily exceed INR 1.2 crores, depending on the state and local regulations. This places the Patrol firmly in the premium SUV segment, competing with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne S Diesel and Audi Q7. While the price is steep, it reflects the vehicles premium build quality, advanced features, and the exclusivity that comes with owning a V8-powered SUV.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 04 September 2024 04:03 AM The new generation of the Nissan Patrol, set to arrive in Australia in late 2026, has ditched the V8 engine in favor of a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, producing 317kW of power and 700Nm of torque. This new engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, marking a significant upgrade in performance and technology. I think this change will appeal to those looking for both power and modern features.
Wednesday, 04 September 2024 10:00 AM Nissan has unveiled the seventh-generation Patrol with a radical transformation, including a bold new design and an upgraded cabin. The vehicle features customizable adaptive air suspension, a widescreen instrument and infotainment system, and a 12-speaker Klipsch premium audio system. I believe these updates will make the Patrol a strong competitor in the luxury SUV market.
Wednesday, 04 September 2024 05:45 AM The current Nissan Patrol V8 will remain in production until the new model arrives, with a possible blackout period before the transition. The V8 model, known for its performance and off-road capabilities, will be missed by many fans. I think its a good idea to grab one of these V8 models before theyre gone, especially if youre a fan of the classic engine.
Wednesday, 04 September 2024 05:40 PM Nissans global president and CEO, Makoto Uchida, described the new Patrol as a bold leap forward for the brand, blending unparalleled performance, cutting-edge technology, and a commanding presence. The new Patrol also includes advanced features like ProPilot semi-autonomous functionality and a Google-driven Connect 2.0 system. I believe this blend of technology and ruggedness will make the Patrol very appealing to modern consumers.
Wednesday, 04 September 2024 01:19 AM The new Nissan Patrol will offer more space than its predecessor, with an extra 30% more interior space and additional storage. It also features a dynamic suspension system and up to six driving modes, along with a new transfer mode interlock system. I think these enhancements will make the Patrol even more versatile and comfortable.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 11:20 AM The mileage of the Nissan Patrol V8 is not its strongest suit. In heavy traffic, you can expect around 2.2 kmL, which improves to about 4.5 kmL on free roads and up to 9.2 kmL on the highway. On average, with four occupants and some overtaking, the mileage settles around 8.8 kmL. This is typical for a large and heavy vehicle with a powerful V8 engine, and potential buyers should be prepared for higher fuel costs.

Nissan Patrol V8 Review

Synopsis

Nissan is planning for an addition to its luxury lining by introducing its grand SUV, the Patrol in India. The Patrol seems to be massive from the looks and not just that, it redefines the definition of comfort. It not just commands the road, off road capabilities of the Patrol will blow your mind up.

Under the hood is a 5552 cc V8 engine which produces 399.62 BHP @ 5800 rpm and a torque of 560 NM @ 4000 rpm. This amount of power gives the rights of domination to the mighty Patrol. This SUV is loaded with a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and adaptive shift control. Performance got no limits when it comes to the 4WD shift switch which also has a mode select including road, sand, snow and rock.

Nissan Patrol is a bit bulky on its exterior with a basic SUV design, but truly saying the display profile suits the style of the car and justifies the purpose it has been built for. Use of chrome on the edges of the windows just adds to the beauty. Huge front honeycomb grill looks perfect with the chrome finish around it. The LED headlamps at the rear seem to be smoked and are perfectly aligned and placed. The rear spoiler adds to its sport vehicle appeal.

Interior is all full of luxury as every bit is made taking care of the comfort of the person sitting in the car. The seats are ventilated; both cooling and heating options are available. Totally electric controlled seat arrangement adds up to the comfort of the passengers and the best thing out of all, your positioning is saved so that the next time you arrive; the same feel is served to you. AC vents for every row is provided which is controlled by an automatic climate control system, which can be manually overridden for each seats personal temperature option. Bose audio system which is also linked to intelligent key memory is installed into the car with 13 premium Bose speakers. The Patrol leaves no point of objection when it comes to the comfort and convenience of the passengers.

With a tyre size of 265/70-R18, it has the ability to take down every type of terrain and a ground clearance of 283 mm makes it a superb option for off road trips. The suspension is handled by independent double wishbone coil sprung with hydraulic body motion control for both the rear and front. Braking is done with the Ventilated Discs on the four wheels which in turn is equipped with ABS, EBD, brake assist and traction control.

The expected price for this super package is around INR 1 crore, making it suitable for a limited number of buyers.
