Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

Yamaha introduced XSR155 at the 60th-anniversary celebration early this year with two new shades. XSR155 is based on the XSR series but unique in its own way, a retro-styled MT-15, so to speak. The bike remains unchanged in terms of mechanical features and with the right kit, it can be personalised into variants like café racer, tracker and sport heritage.

Yamaha XSR155 Design and Style

Inheriting the design traits of the XSR series it was seen with the teardrop shape tank with the good quality tank cover, a classic single-piece seat designed to provide comfort and ease, handcrafted aluminium cut heritage parts, LED headlight and LED taillight, authentic retro-styled speedometer and dual-purpose tyres with a thread pattern. 2023 XSR155 got some redesigned parts as well, such as the headlamp brackets, sump guard, and retro-inspired pore-like exhaust plate.

Yamaha XSR155 Engine and Gearbox

2023 Yamaha XSR155 features a BS6-compliant 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder SOHC 4-valve engine with fuel injection and VVA (variable valve actuation). It can generate a maximum power of 19.3 HP at 1000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 8500 rpm. It is mated with a constant-mesh 6-speed transmission and wet, multiple-disc, assist and slipper clutch that enables smooth downshifting.

Yamaha XSR155 Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

2023 XSR155 chassis comprises a delta box (diamond) frame with upside-down front forks and a link mono-shock rear suspension, the Indian version might get the conventional telescopic forks. The braking duties are handled by the 282mm hydraulic single disc brakes at the front and 220mm single disc at the rear aided with 2-channel ABS. XSR155 comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, 110/70-17M/C 54S (India might get 100/80-17) at the front and 140/70-17 M/C 66S at the rear.

Instrument Console of the Yamaha XSR155

2023 XSR155 is equipped with an all-digital single-pod instrument cluster that comprises a distinctive semi-circle tachometer, speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge, gear indicator, ABS light and rev-limiter indicator.

Key Features of Yamaha XSR155

New XSR155 key features include a retro-inspired classic look, retro console, powerful engine, dual-channel ABS, wide rear tyre, LED headlight and taillight. Comfort feature comprises a pillion footrest, electric start, engine kill switch and pillion grab rail.

Top Speed and Mileage of Yamaha XSR155

2023 Yamaha XSR155 is expected to reach the top speed of 135 kmph (speedo-indicated), 155cc naked street racer can speed up from 0 to 100 in around 15 seconds and the expected mileage is around 40 kmpl.
