Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
TVS updates the Apache RR 310 sports bike very often and this time around, the company has given its flagship its most comprehensive track and sports focus update to date. However the big news this time is that TVS has now introduced its Build To Order or BTO platform where customers can order the RR310 as per their liking, straight from the factory.
Through BTO customers can opt for this sensational looking new race livery, select between black and red wheels and choose a race number that can be added to the windscreen. The customization options available so far definitely aren't as detailed as what Royal Enfield provides but there is a difference because TVS is now offering two performance-enhancing kits that make the RR 310 a whole lot more sporty. The first of these is the Race Kit and this changes the bike's riding position and the second and even more exciting optional kit which TVS calls is the Dynamic Kit.
TVS Apache RR 310 Design and Style
To be more precise, the sporty updates for the MY2022 come as optional extras which we'll get to know soon. The upgrades include a new wave key design, a slightly reworked exhaust system and some new features for the Bluetooth-enabled TFT display. Beyond this, the Apache RR 310 has the same mechanicals as last year including the trellis frame and the engine. The race kit brings more aggressively set clip-ons, new metal footpegs and these footpegs are about 30 millimetres higher up.

In-person it doesn't sound as bad as the Race Kit would make you think, it is more sporty and more committed. The only thing to consider is that when you're taking u-turns, these new clip-ons will bring your hand quite close to the fuel tank. Another benefit is that the lower clip-ons from the Race Kit also look much better against the RR superbike style bodywork.
TVS has also tweaked the placement of the exhaust system with a new bend pipe and along with the new footpegs, this has helped to increase the maximum lean angle available by 4.5 degrees. That is a big deal because the earlier RR used to regularly drag its footpegs on the racetrack but that's no longer an issue.
TVS Apache RR 310 Engine and Gearbox
The new model of TVS Apache RR310 is powered by a 312.2cc, SI, 4-Stroke, 4-Valve, Single-Cylinder, Liquid-Cooled, Reverse Inclined engine that churns out 34 hp of power at 9700 rpm and a maximum torque of 27.3 Nm at 7700 rpm mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike completely satisfies the BS6 emission norms.
TVS Apache RR 310 Instrument Console
The updated TFT console of the 2022 model now gets a feature with the ability to store the digital version of your bike's documents in addition to a new programmable speed warning. There's also a new dynamic rev limit indicator that adjusts the rev limiter displayed on the TFT based on the operating temperature of the engine. Basically, the TFT will show a lower rev limit if the engine temperature is too low or too high. Apart from the features, the console displays all of the required information like the speedometer, tachometer, lap timer, tripmeter, fuel gauge and a lot more.
TVS Apache RR 310 Brakes, Suspension and Tyres
The New Apache RR 310’s braking system comprises 300mm petal single disc and 240mm petal single disc at the front and the rear respectively. In addition to a nice-looking brass coated chain, this brings in full preload compression and rebound adjustability for the 41mm Kayaba upside-down forks at the front while the 2-arm aluminium die-cast swing-arm, mono tube floating piston gas assisted shock absorber at the rear, is now adjustable for preload and rebound damping.
Key Features of TVS Apache RR 310
Some of the key features of the New TVS Apache RR 310 include: All-New Vertical Coloured TFT Instrument Cluster with An Engine Rev Limit Indicator, A Day Trip Meter, An Over-Speed Indicator, and Stores/Displays Digital Documents, Riding Modes, 2-Channel ABS, USD Front Forks, Wide Tyres, New Race Muffler (Revised Geometry for Higher Lean Angles) are a few key features of TVS Apache RR 310.
TVS Apache RR 310 Top Speed and Mileage
TVS Apache RR 310 offers a mileage of approximately 30kmpl. In addition to that the brand claims that in terms of performance, the 300cc sportbike can touch the speed from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.17 seconds. The bike reaches a top speed of 160 kmph when driven in Sport & Track Mode whereas 125 kmph in Urban & Rain Mode.
TVS Apache RR 310 Colour Options

New TVS Apache RR 310 is now equipped to take the fight on to that KTM RC 390, Yamaha R3, Benelli 302R and, Kawasaki Ninja 300.
Verdict - Should You Buy the TVS Apache RR 310?
TVS says that a bike ordered via BTO will take between one and two months to reach the customer and that for now BTO bikes will be restricted to 100 units per month although the company is going to make that 150 units for the first two months. BTO starts off with the Apache RR 310 but TVS says that more models will be added to this program in the future as for now we still need to see how these changes to the RR feel on the road. There's no doubt that these new kits have definitely increased the RR's appeal as an overall package as the RR 310 has always been a very sweet nature yet capable motorcycle but with these two optional kits in place, its track capability has gone up a big step.

Stylish and Good Performer
Style: It's a beautifully crafted beast, when you just sit on the bike you feel like you are in a Race. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: It's loaded with 160CC powerful RTR engine that you can really feel it. And fuel economy is good! I have just done with 2nd service (today) and so far I have got 60kmpl riding around 55km/hr and had never crossed 60km/hr.. but today I was really exited and happy to ride my beast at its best, I really enjoyed the pickup, speed, thrill.... coming to gearbox it lags (some times), it is smooth while the up shifts and stuck while down shifts and have to slow down the bike for down shifts but this is a common problem in all bike range. Ride Quality & Handling: Ride quality and Handling is extremely good.. but rear tyre slips when you brake, you might have to use good quality tyres. Areas of improvement: Riding comfort as riders get back ache, tyres, gearbox
Best Features: RTR, dashboard has many options, etc
Pros: Good performance, stylish, fuel economy, ride quality
Cons: Comfort, gearbox
