Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The Suzuki V-Strom SX is an entry grade adventure sportbike based on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 platform, with design and style influences from the leading Suzuki V-Storm Models. V-Strom SX is arranged to cater to a section of riders seeking a versatile experience in sport-touring, adept at regular commute, highway riding, as well as for exploring moderate off-road terrains. Suzuki Motorcycle India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the extremely economical model in the V-Strom series. The latest adventure tourer V-Strom SX 250 rivals the likes of KTM 250 Adventure, Benelli TRK251, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and Hero Xpulse 200 in the Indian market.
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Design and Style
V-Strom SX borrows its styling cues from the Suzuki V-Strom 1050, the prominent beak is inspired by the Suzuki DR-Z racer and DR-BIG off-road models. In the front octagonal LED headlight above the beak similar to Gixxer 250 is added with a tail windscreen and handguards completing the adventure look. Large dual-tone plastic fuel tank shrouds at the side, beneath which is a 12-litre metal fuel tank, similar in capacity to Gixxer 250 street naked. The shroud merges with the beak and overall looks quite cohesive. Other features include a two-piece seat, a dual-tone tail section with an integrated LED taillight and a luggage carrier/grab bar.
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Engine and Gearbox
Similar to Gixxer 250 street naked, 2024 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 is powered by the 249cc, oil-cooled single-cylinder SOHC 4-valve engine generating the max power of 26.5 HP @ 9300 rpm and a max torque of 22.2 Nm @ 7300 rpm. BS6-Compliant engine comes with a fuel injection system and electronic ignition mated with 6-speed constant mesh with a wet multi-plate clutch. Suzuki says the 250cc adventure sports tourer has adapted analytic technology from MotoGP to develop the valves, shim type roller rocker arms retainer and pistons to reduce weight.
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Suspension, Brakes & Tyres
2024 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 draws similarities from Gixxer 250 here as well but the company says it has made slight adjustments with the sub-frame and the swingarm. The wheelbase is more by 100mm compared to the Gixxer 250 and relatively has a relaxed steering geometry. The bike is suspended by the telescopic forks, coil spring, oil damped at the front and a swing-arm, coil-spring, oil damped, mono-shock at the rear with a ground clearance of 205mm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and comes with a dual-exit muffler. The bike rides on a 19-inch alloy wheel with 100/90-19 M/C 57S front tyre and a 17-inch alloy wheel with 140/70-17 M/C 66S rear tyre(tubeless). Shod with MRF Mogrip Meteor tyres similar to the ones in KTM 250 Adventure. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at the front and rear which are further aided by the dual-channel ABS.
Instrument Console of Suzuki V-Strom SX 250
2024 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 comes with a Suzuki Easy Start System that enables the user to start the bike with an easy push with the clutch pulled in, rather than holding the switch. The USB outlet on the left side of the instrument cluster can be used to charge a device, it glows blue making it easy to access under low light conditions. Bluetooth connectivity via Suzuki Ride Connect which offers features like Missed Call Alerts & Caller ID, Phone Battery-Level Display, Speed Exceeding Alert, Turn-By-Turn Navigation, Call, SMS & WhatsApp alert, ETA updates, Last Parked Location etc.
Key Features of Suzuki V-Strom SX 250
The highlight key features of the new Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 include Suzuki Ride Connect Edition with Bluetooth enabled digital console, speed exceeding alert, turn-by-turn navigation, phone battery level display, Call, SMS & WhatsApp alert, ETA updates, missed call alert & caller ID, last parked location, lightweight versatile crossover, LED headlight & tail lamp, dual-exit muffler, engine under the cowling, windscreen, separate seat, SOCS, Suzuki Easy Start System.

Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Price in India
The ex-showroom price of the new V-Strom SX 250 ranges from 2.11 lakh to 2.14 approx. And the on-road price ranges from 2.44 lakh to 2.52 lakh approx. Now, to understand the difference between ex-showroom and on-road prices, the ex-showroom price of a bike is the sticker price that does not include the cost of road tax, insurance, and registration. The on-road price, on the other hand, includes the previously mentioned costs as well as the cost of insurance, RC, one-time road tax, extended warranty, and all accessories purchased for the vehicle. It is worth noting that on-road prices in our country vary greatly from state to state.
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Competitors
Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure and KTM 250 Adventure can be considered the direct rivals to new Suzuki -Strom SX 250. Honda CB200x, Benelli TRK 251, and Hero Xpulse 200 4V are some similar bikes which can be considered as an option in the similar price range.
Verdict
2024 Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 looks like a very impressive bike in the entry-level adventure category. It is a good bike to start your adventure journey as a beginner. The design is very cool and sleek, the build quality is good, houses a powerful engine, and is installed with some amazing features that make it unique from its rivals in the market. It is a comfortable bike which you can drive for longer periods of time. The only con that one can think of would be the price as it seems a bit higher when compared to other bikes in the same range.

The bike and showroom are both good
The bike and showroom are both good. Delivery time and treatment are also great I'm expecting goods to arrive on the seventh of November, but the first ride was done in just two days and covered 850 km. One of the nicest experiences in India is the Indo-Coastal passtime which takes you from Mumbai to Rameshwaram on one journey, and crosses over to Kanya Kumari. The bike offers good performance and has a high mileage. The total mileage driven so far is 4,900km which is about 40 km/pl.
Best Features: Mileage, Stability
Pros: Mileage, Looks Good
Cons: High Price
