Our take on this /// Verdict
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Custom Edition is a compelling choice for those seeking a blend of retro styling, robust performance, and everyday practicality. My experience with this bike has been nothing short of enjoyable, despite a few minor quirks. The 648cc parallel-twin engine delivers a linear power output, making it both satisfying at low revs and exhilarating at higher speeds. The chassis, though equipped with budget-friendly shocks and springs, surprises with its compliance and predictability, especially on bumpy roads. However, the riding posture, particularly with the clip-on handlebars, can be awkward in dense traffic, and the fuel gauge can be irritatingly vague. Despite these limitations, the bikes overall build quality, precise gearbox, and slipper clutch make it a joy to ride. For those who value style, performance, and a unique riding experience, the Continental GT 650 Custom Edition is definitely worth considering.
Price
In India, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Custom Edition is priced competitively, starting at around Rs. 3,28,406 for the ex-showroom price. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the price can go up to approximately Rs. 3,80,000 to Rs. 4,00,000, depending on the state and city. Given the features and performance it offers, this price point is quite reasonable. The Custom Edition, with its unique color schemes and alloy wheels, adds a touch of exclusivity without a significant hike in price, making it a good value for money. For those looking for a stylish and capable cafe racer that doesnt break the bank, the Continental GT 650 Custom Edition is a solid choice.

The 2024 Savile Row Concours in London saw the unveiling of a custom Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, created by Top Gear in collaboration with Royal Enfield and several UK craftsmen. This one-off bike features a fairing inspired by Harris’ old Magnum racer, NTR R3 fully adjustable rear springs, and Bridgestone Battlax BT46 tyres on 36-spoke wheels. The exhaust pipes and mufflers from Baak helped reduce the bikes weight by 12.8kg. I believe this custom build showcases the potential for Royal Enfield to offer more aggressive and performance-oriented accessories for the GT 650.

I think these modifications demonstrate the communitys enthusiasm for personalizing their Royal Enfield bikes to meet their specific needs.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 04:04 AM
The mileage of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Custom Edition is quite satisfactory, especially considering its performance-oriented nature. In city conditions, you can expect around 22 kmpl, while on highways, it can deliver up to 25 kmpl at steady speeds of around 100 kmph. These figures are commendable for a 648cc twin-cylinder engine and make the bike a viable option for both daily commutes and occasional long rides. However, the 12.5-liter fuel tank capacity might require more frequent fuel stops on long highway trips, which could be a minor inconvenience for some riders. Overall, the mileage is balanced and aligns well with the bikes intended use as a stylish and capable cafe racer. User Reviews for Royal Enfield Continental GT (2019)
Reviews Submitted by Maxabout Community
There has not been a month since the purchase in which I had to skip calling the mechanic. In fact, he has become a really good friend of mine. The bike build quality is extremely poor. The tyre puncture situation is the worst. The bike is light as a Royal Enfield but still heavy as a normal bike. As soon as the tyre punctures, the weight of the bike destroys that tube and when you take it to the repair shop, the puncture guy asks for extra money because of how hard it was to take out the rear wheel.
Best Features: Gets a lot of attention and sounds great with sports exhaust
Pros: Has a good seating position, engine offers a lot of torque, has good brakes and handles well
Cons: Very poor built quality, mileage is poor, starts to rust very soon, engine leaks oil, very hard to take the rear wheel off in case of puncture
