MV Agusta F4 ABS

About
The MV Agusta F4 ABS is a masterpiece of Italian motorcycle design, with a history that dates back to its launch in 1999. Designed by Massimo Tamburini, this bike features a distinctive under-seat exhaust system and a sleek, curvaceous design that sets it apart from other sportbikes. The F4 is powered by a 998cc inline-four engine, which produces 198PS at 13,400rpm and 111Nm of torque. The bike comes equipped with advanced electronics, including an eight-level traction control system, ABS, and multiple riding modes. The chassis features a tubular trellis frame, adjustable Marzocchi USD forks, and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear, providing exceptional handling and braking capabilities. While it is a joy to ride, especially in its Sport mode, the bikes high saddle height and stiff ride quality make it more suited for taller, experienced riders. The F4s unique blend of power, design, and technology makes it a coveted choice for serious motorcycle enthusiasts in India.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The MV Agusta F4 ABS is a motorcycle that embodies the essence of Italian design and engineering, but it comes with its share of complexities and challenges. The bikes design, crafted by the legendary Massimo Tamburini, is undeniably stunning, with its characteristic under-seat exhaust pipes and sleek lines. However, the build quality and panel gaps can be a letdown, especially considering its premium pricing. The inline-four engine, developed with input from Ferrari, delivers exceptional power and a thrilling riding experience, especially in Sport mode. The comprehensive electronic package, including traction control and ABS, adds to its sophistication. Despite its impressive performance, the bikes ergonomics can be demanding, and the heat dissipation issues are notable. Overall, its a bike that will appeal to enthusiasts who value raw power and unique design, but it may not be the best choice for everyday riding due to its high maintenance and specific needs.
Price
In India, the MV Agusta F4 ABS, particularly the F4RR variant, comes with a hefty price tag. When new, the ex-showroom price in Pune was roughly Rs 36 lakhs. Adding the on-road costs, including taxes and other charges, the total on-road price would be around Rs 43 lakhs. This pricing reflects the bikes exclusive nature, limited production, and the high-quality components used. However, the absence of a dealership network in India after the companys exit can significantly impact the resale value and maintenance costs, making it a costly affair for potential buyers.

Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 10:37 AM The mileage of the MV Agusta F4 ABS is not its strong suit. With a 17-liter fuel tank, the bike manages to deliver around 18 kmpl on the highway, which is relatively low compared to other motorcycles in its class. City riding mileage is similar, making it a bike that is more suited for occasional spirited rides rather than daily commuting. This low mileage, combined with the high fuel costs, can make the running costs of this bike quite expensive.

F4 vs RR

Mark - | 3 years ago

I Own an F4 1000 2018 and the top speed is 306, the RR goes up to 320-330 and requires a proficient rider. Electronics are simple and works well. The bike is built solid and a very strong chassis, what I really hope is the pistons are not forged so city riding will not damage the engine and thankfully I've got steel con rods and not titanium which definitely will make a more reasonable overhaul if needed (scored titanium is a disaster)
