Kawasaki Ninja H2 Supercharged Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Kawasaki brought a revolution with the introduction of its new supercharged Ninja H2, in which the supercharged is not just a narrative term. It has what it means, being the first and only one supercharged production super bike. Words won't end if you start praising Kawasaki for such a distinctive step being taken in the motorcycle engineering, giving the Ninja H2 a different place in the industry. Being a diehard fan of super performance bikes, MS Dhoni (Captain of Indian Cricket Team) is the first Indian to own a Kawasaki Ninja H2.
Design and Style
Ninja H2 gets the sharpest front from all the other hyper sport bikes, so sharp that a knife feels blunt before it. The body has been designed very carefully, keeping every part aerodynamically alive. The front has a pentagonal shaped headlight in the center with an air intake on each side suits the personality of the motorcycle. The design seems more like a hungry shark approaching its prey with its fins (rear view mirrors) wide open. Extraordinary finish has been given in the making of every little component, taking its built quality to a new level.
Dimensions and Weight
The Ninja H2 has an overall length of 2085 mm and is 1125 mm in height. The width of the H2 is 770 mm with a ground clearance of only 130 mm. It has a 1455 mm wheelbase and 825 mm is the seat height. These dynamics form a perfect riding machine with a perfect riding position in order to get performance worth every single drop of fuel. The fuel tank has a capacity of 17 litres and wet weight is said to be 238 kg.
Instrument Console
Kawasaki uses an advanced console with a combination of the beauty of a needle and the simplicity of a digital display. The Ninja H2 has a red needled tachometer on the left and a blue illuminated LED display on the right. A ring around the tachometer houses all the signals including turn, high beam, neutral, low fuel and many more. The LED display beautifully describes the speed and distance covered, along with the notification of Kawasaki traction control system and other notifications. A digital trip indication is on the right top side of the LED with the speedometer below it.
Engine and Performance
The Ninja H2 can be called as the other name of performance as it is capable of reaching 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds, thanks to its 998 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line four, DOHC, 16-valve, supercharged engine. It produces a massive 197.3 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 133.5 NM @ 10,500 rpm. Not just that, with RAM Air intakes the power output increases up to 207.1 BHP. This unbelievable power is distributed into 6 gears and the Kawasaki quick shift system makes it easier to shift gears at high speeds without clutch usage, reducing time for the top speed achievement. Four 50 mm fuel injectors handle the hunger of this beast.
Suspension and Brakes
The front of the Ninja H2 is handled by 43mm inverted fork with rebound and compression damping, spring preload adjustability and top-out springs whereas the rear suspension is the new Uni-Trak with gas-charged shock, piggyback reservoir, dual-range (high/low-speed) compression damping, rebound damping and preload adjustability, and top-out spring. The adjustable factors in both the suspensions make them race ready in every condition. Braking in the Ninja H2 at the front is handled by dual radial-mount, opposed 4-piston calipers, dual semi-floating 330mm discs whereas the rear has an opposed 2-piston calipers, single 250mm disc. ABS is available on both the brakes making it a safe ride in every road condition. Helping these big sized discs are the 120/70 ZR17 and 200/55 ZR17 tires at front and back respectively. Each component performs its duty responsibly, resulting into a super-fast and thrilling ride every time.
Shades and Price
The Ninja H2 comes in a Mirror coated Black shade only. It looks totally different from a normal superbike due to the finish of its unique color and the green skeleton adds more beauty to its aggressive designing. It has been priced at INR 29,00,000 (ex-showroom) as it would be brought to India as a CBU only. Kawasaki team should be very proud of its research on the supercharged hyper sport bike as making something historical is not an everyday event to happen.
