Honda CBR650 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Honda has been ruling the commuter segment with its gear-less scooter being on the top of all this time. The company has seen the future of middle weight bikes in India and the growing craze for the same has been the basic reason for the introduction of CBR650F in India. It is now officially available in India and has been launched @ the Honda Revfest event for Rs. 7.30 lakhs. Honda CBR650F is a superb performer, with everything balanced for a perfect riding experience.
Design & Style
The bike comes with a faired design as the F in its name defines. The fairing has been done in such a way that the engine can be seen through the side body. The front gets a sharp body design and the single headlight cluster looks really different as all others have a twin headlight cluster generally. The fairing has been evenly spread around when seen from the front and the stylish visor suits the personality of the bike. The design of the alloy wheels looks pretty good. The rear seems to be simple yet attractive due to its huge tyre profile.
Honda CBR650 Instrument Console
The console on the CBR650F seems to be different, with a dual LCD panel, fully digital instrument console, separated with the turn indicators in the center. The center part of the console looks really odd for such a brilliant bike, on whose left is the digital tachometer and speedometer. The right side houses other important technical details like odometer. The overall layout looks great, but the old fashioned lights for the indicators in the center seems to be out-dated.
Honda CBR650 Engine & Performance
The CBR650F has no flaws when talked about its overall performance. Born for the show stealing purpose, the Honda's 648.72cc engine produces a max of 85.28 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 62.9 NM @ 8000 rpm from its 4-cylinder arrangement. The engine gets liquid cooling and the iconic PGM-FI from Honda. The whole system takes the CBR650F from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.96 seconds only, with a claimed mileage of 21 kmpl from Honda. The top speed comes out to be 222 kmph.
Honda CBR650 Suspension & Brakes
The CBR650F comes with 41mm telescopic forks for the front, with a travel of 4.3 inches. The rear gets the spring preload adjustable single shock. The front disc arrangement comes with twin 320mm hydraulic disc brakes with 2-piston calipers and the rear has a single 240 mm disc brake for an efficient braking experience. Dual channel ABS has been provided with the above arrangement to facilitate much better braking in non-ideal braking conditions. The front tire on the CBR650F measures 120/70-R17 whereas the rear conformation is yet to be made.
Honda CBR650 Shades, Variants & Ex-showroom Price
The CBR650F is available in only one shade - Pearl Metalloid White and single variant with ABS as standard with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 7,30,000. The bike has a straight competition with every middle weight racer in the country, but the price has been kept higher than expected.
