The new design is sleeker looking than the previous version and offers a more aerodynamic design for a faster and smoother ride. India Launch Update | This may not be a piece of good news for Honda fans but the launch of CBR250RR in India is only possible via local production route. At present, the 2021 model of the sportbike is available in Japan for JPY 8,21,700 (INR 5.79 lakh, approx). An aggressive and affordable price tag via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route is not possible as placing the CBR250RR at around INR 3.75-4.00 lakh (ex-showroom) would not get the number of buyers required by Honda to keep the operations going. If Honda starts the local production of CBR250RR and manages to price the sports bike at around INR 3 lakh, only then the brand would be able to get a decent sales number in India. As of now, HMSI has not announced anything officially regarding the launch of the CBR250RR in India. The brand may consider the sports bike for the Indian market at a later stage in future. |

Honda CBR250RR Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The Honda CBR250RR is the company’s entry-level twin-cylinder SuperSport bike, which is already available in a few international markets. It has got some new schemes, and the engine has also been upgraded. The upgraded version is already available in Japan.
Honda CBR250RR Design and Style
There are no major changes in terms of fundamental design except for the added colour schemes in the CBR250RR, continuing to flaunt the aggressive style with its twin-LED headlamp setup with double-barrel exhaust, an aluminium swing-arm, dual-channel ABS, gold-finish upside-down front forks and gold alloy wheels. It is installed with an all-digital instrument cluster which comes with Honda Connect, 3 ride modes and many interesting features.
Honda CBR250RR Engine and Gearbox
The upgraded BS6 compliant engine is a 249.7cc 4-stroke 8-valve DOHC parallel twin-cylinder PGM-Fi (programmed fuel injection) liquid-cooled with auto electric fan and is set to generate a max power of 40.2 HP @ 13,000 rpm and a max torque of 25 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. It is still mated with a 6-speed gearbox with a multi-plate wet clutch with coil spring assist and slipper along with an optional quick shifter at 168 kg of kerb weight and 14.5 litres of fuel tank capacity.
Honda CBR250RR Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
2023 CBR250RR is suspended on the Diamond Truss Frame with Inverted Telescopic Golden USD Forks at the front and Aluminium Swing-arm 5-adjustable mono-shock suspension with Pro-link System at the rear. 310mm Hydraulic Disc dual-piston at the front and 240mm Hydraulic Disc single piston and rear is installed to regulate the braking duties. The front wheel is a 17-inch 110/70-R17 54H (tubeless, alloy) and the rear wheel is also a 17-inch 140/70-R17 66H (tubeless, alloy) adapted with dual-channel ABS at both ends.
Instrument Console of Honda CBR250RR
A full digital console that demonstrates high performance. The width of the bezel surrounding the liquid crystal area is designed to be as thin as possible. The liquid crystal part is designed to enhance visibility to acquire all the information presented by it. It displays information like gear position, two-type trip meters, clock, fuel consumption meter, water temperature gauge, riding mode and such. It is also equipped with a 5-unit REV indicator that notifies the shift timing that has been set arbitrarily by lighting and blinking the LED, and a lap timer function. There are three Ride Modes available, Sport, Sport+ and Comfort. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity, which can be used to connect to the Honda Connect App and also gets a smart key with theft detection.
Key Features of Honda CBR250RR
Some of the key features include LED headlights, DOHC in-line twin-cylinder engine, Impressive Design, Assist and Slipper Clutch, Dual-channel ABS, 3 Riding Modes, All Digital informative Console, Smartkey, Theft Deterrence, Quick-shifter, Throttle-by-Wire System. Comfort features include a step-up seat/split seat, electric seat, riding modes, engine kill switch, pillion footrest, pillion grab rail, self-canceling indicators, etc.
Top Speed and Mileage of Honda CBR250RR
2023 CBR250RR can reach 0 to 60 kmph in 2.75 seconds and 0 to 100 kmph in 6 seconds, and the top speed it can achieve is approximately 180 kmph. Honda has claimed the mileage to be 40.1 kmpl at a 60 kmph of a constant value.
Honda CBR250RR Colour Options
2023 Honda CBR250RR is available in 4 new shades namely, Graphite Black, Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic, Pearl Glare White and the Grand Prix Red (stripped).
Honda CBR250RR Price
The standard CBR250RR is suggested to be around 821,700 Japanese Yen (including the consumption tax) which is approximately 4,88,966 INR and the Grand Prix Red (striped) is suggested to be around 854,700 JPY which would amount to 5,08,510 INR (including the consumption tax).
Honda CBR250RR Competitors
The closest rival to the CBR250RR is the Yamaha R25, which is more affordable than the Honda sportbike, but R25 also lags behind in terms of performance and safety. R25, with its twin-cylinder engine, can deliver 35.5 HP @ 12,000 rpm of max power and 22.6 Nm @ 10,000 rpm of max torque.
India Launch Expectation
This may not be good news for Honda enthusiasts, but the CBR250RR will only be available in India through a local production method. A competitive and accessible price via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) approach is not conceivable since pricing the CBR250RR at roughly INR 3.75-4.00 lakh (ex-showroom) would not attract the number of purchasers necessary for Honda to keep the operations running. HMSI has yet to make a formal announcement on the launch of the CBR250RR in India. The brand may consider the sports bike for the Indian market in the future.

Can you explain the difference between the Honda CBR250RR and the CBR250R?
17 April 2025 19:30The primary difference between the Honda CBR250RR and the CBR250R lies in their engine configuration and performance. The CBR250RR is equipped with a 249.7cc, 4-stroke, DOHC, 8-valve, parallel twin-cylinder engine, producing 41 hp at 13,000 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. Is the Honda CBR250RR suitable for track racing?
17 April 2025 19:30The Honda CBR250RR MC22 is highly suitable for track racing, particularly for beginners or those looking for a fun and challenging experience without overwhelming power. It boasts a lightweight design of 315 pounds, a high-revving 250cc four-cylinder engine that redlines at 19,000 RPM, and a robust twin-spar aluminum frame with a gull-wing swingarm, providing excellent handling and stability. Although it lacks the power of larger bikes on straights, it has sufficient power to keep up in other sections of the track, especially when kept in its powerband above 10,000 RPM. However, its original suspension and brakes may need upgrading to fully exploit its track capabilities, as the bike can dive significantly under hard braking and has poor brake feel in its stock form. With proper maintenance and upgrades, the CBR250RR MC22 can offer an exhilarating track experience with its unique sound and responsive handling.
