Hyosung GT250R ABS

About
The Hyosung GT250R is a sporty motorcycle that stands out with its sleek and modern design, often drawing comparisons to higher-end sportbikes like the Suzuki GSXR and Ducati 748. Powered by a 249cc, airoil-cooled V-twin DOHC eight-valve engine, it produces 30 horsepower at 10,500 rpm, providing smooth and linear power delivery that is easy to manage. The bike features a 5-speed transmission, a comfortable riding position, and a digital speedometer along with an analog tachometer. The suspension is stable and comfortable, making it suitable for a range of riders. While it may not be the best choice for daily commuting due to its size and extreme riding posture, the GT250R excels on highways and twisty roads, offering a fun and confidence-inspiring ride. Its modern styling, including a distinctive headlight and full fairing, makes it a standout in the 250cc segment.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyosung GT250R is a compelling option for those seeking a sporty, yet manageable motorcycle. Its V-twin engine delivers smooth and linear power, making it ideal for both new and experienced riders. The bikes styling is undoubtedly one of its strongest points, with a design that mimics higher-end sportbikes, making it hard to distinguish from its 600cc or 1000cc counterparts. However, the GT250R is not without its flaws the brakes, while functional, lack the confidence-inspiring feedback one might expect, and the tyres could be improved for better grip. Despite these minor issues, the GT250R offers a fun and stable riding experience, especially on highways and twisty roads. For those looking for a sporty bike that is both practical and stylish, the GT250R is a solid choice, though it may not be the best option for daily commuting due to its extreme riding posture and weight.
Price
In India, the Hyosung GT250R is priced competitively, though it may be slightly more expensive than some of its direct competitors. The ex-showroom price for the GT250R typically ranges between 3.5 to 4 lakhs, depending on the region and any local taxes. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other costs, can push the total to around 4.2 to 4.7 lakhs. While it is more expensive than the Ninja 250R, the GT250Rs unique styling and V-twin engine may justify the extra cost for many buyers. However, the lack of ABS in earlier models and the need for occasional upgrades to components like tyres might add to the overall cost of ownership.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 01 February 2018 10:09 AM The Hyosung GT250R and Aquila Pro have been updated with dual-channel ABS in compliance with the Indian governments mandate for all two-wheelers with an engine displacement of 125cc and above to have ABS by April 2019. This update enhances the safety features of these motorcycles. I think this move is a significant step towards reducing two-wheeler accidents in India.
Tuesday, 30 January 2018 09:47 AM Bookings for the ABS versions of the Hyosung GT250R and Aquila Pro are now open in India, with a minimum token amount of Rs 25,000. The new models are expected to be priced slightly higher than their non-ABS counterparts. The GT250R is currently priced at Rs 3.45 lakh, and the Aquila Pro is priced at Rs 5.63 lakh, both ex-showroom Delhi. I believe this pricing strategy will make these bikes more competitive in the market.
Thursday, 25 January 2018 10:27 AM The Hyosung GT250R ABS features a 249cc, V-twin, oil-cooled engine that produces 28 hp and 22 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed transmission. The addition of ABS is a crucial safety upgrade, especially given the governments new regulations. I think this engine and transmission combo, along with ABS, makes the GT250R a solid choice for riders seeking both performance and safety.
Saturday, 20 January 2018 11:54 PM DSK Motowheels, the distributor of Hyosung motorcycles in India, has confirmed that the ABS versions of the GT250R and Aquila Pro will be available through their independent retail network. This ensures that customers can purchase these updated models from authorized dealerships. I believe this wide availability will help in increasing sales and customer trust.
Monday, 15 January 2018 06:37 PM The Hyosung GT250R with ABS retains its sporty design and features, including 51 mm inverted forks and a twin-spar steel frame, which provide improved handling. The bike also comes with a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, now complemented by the dual-channel ABS system. I think the combination of these features makes the GT250R a well-rounded sport bike.
Wednesday, 10 January 2018 04:13 PM The introduction of ABS on the Hyosung GT250R is seen as a proactive move by the company to comply with upcoming safety regulations. This update is expected to boost consumer confidence in the brand, especially among safety-conscious buyers. I believe this proactive approach will help Hyosung regain market share in the Indian two-wheeler segment.
Friday, 05 January 2018 04:49 PM The fuel-injected 249cc V-twin engine of the Hyosung GT250R ABS continues to offer good fuel economy, with a recorded consumption of 3.8 L/100 km. This, combined with the 17 L fuel tank, provides a range of approximately 500 km. I think this fuel efficiency is a significant advantage for long-distance riders.
Thursday, 12 October 2017 08:48 PM The Hyosung GT250R ABS is part of Hyosungs efforts to revamp their product lineup in India, following their split with DSK and new partnership with Kinetic Motoroyale. This move is seen as a strategic step to re-establish the brands presence in the Indian market. I think this new partnership could bring fresh energy to Hyosungs offerings.
Tuesday, 10 October 2017 07:39 AM The 2018 Hyosung GT250R ABS launch is highlighted by its big-bike looks and the focus on safety with the addition of ABS. The bikes design and features are aimed at appealing to riders who want a sporty yet safe riding experience. I believe the aesthetics and safety features will attract a lot of attention from potential buyers.
Monday, 25 September 2017 08:35 AM The Hyosung GT250R ABS is one of the few motorcycles in its segment to offer dual-channel ABS, making it a standout in terms of safety features. This update positions the GT250R as a competitive option in the 250cc sports bike segment in India. I think this will give it an edge over other bikes in the same category.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 05:44 AM The mileage of the Hyosung GT250R is respectable for a sporty 250cc motorcycle. In real-world conditions, you can expect to get around 25-30 kml in city riding and up to 35-40 kml on highways, depending on your riding style and conditions. This is comparable to other bikes in its class and is a result of the efficient V-twin engine and the bikes overall design. For a bike that is meant to be fun and engaging rather than purely economical, the GT250R strikes a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency. Best looking 250cc bike in India

When I was planning to purchase this bike I was little bit confused whether I should buy it or not. But one of my friends asked me to go with this bike. And I thought it was my good decision as I am satisfied with my machine. The ride quality is completely enjoyable and it absorbs bumps easily without creating any problem for the rider. It weighs at 188 kgs which makes it difficult to control while turning it. The 17-litre fuel tank is very well designed. As far as styling is concerned, it is very attractive and appealing. The turning radius is quite large and the riding position is too sporty for city commute. Braking performance is good but the 300mm twin discs at the front don't really give it any better stopping power. The bike is little bit costly as it lacks many features one would expect at that price.

Best Features: Stunning looks

Pros: Stunning looks, huge fuel tank capacity, fuel efficient, good riding position

Cons: Expensive, heavy weight

Hyosung GT250 R become my first choice, from the day I saw my friends Hyosung. Yeah, I wanna confess here that I felt jealous sometimes when gals attracted towards him. Now, I feel very proud when I ride this bike. Its style is damn awesome and it has 3 disc brakes which makes me tension free while riding at high speeds. As I owned Red color Hyosung, so I find it best among others. It just lack in power which goes opposite to my expectations. It packs twin cylinder engine but power it generates is equal to single cylinder. So, this could be the only cons in my view. Rest its a wonderful bike.

Best Features: Disc Brake and Appearance

Pros: Best looks, Instrument cluster, Disc brake

Cons: Expensive fairings, Reliability, Price
