India Launch Update | This may not be a piece of good news for Honda fans but the launch of CBR250RR in India is only possible via local production route. At present, the 2021 model of the sportbike is available in Japan for JPY 8,21,700 (INR 5.79 lakh, approx). An aggressive and affordable price tag via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route is not possible as placing the CBR250RR at around INR 3.75-4.00 lakh (ex-showroom) would not get the number of buyers required by Honda to keep the operations going. If Honda starts the local production of CBR250RR and manages to price the sports bike at around INR 3 lakh, only then the brand would be able to get a decent sales number in India. As of now, HMSI has not announced anything officially regarding the launch of the CBR250RR in India. The brand may consider the sports bike for the Indian market at a later stage in future. |

What is the waiting period for the Honda CBR250RR in India?
17 April 2025 19:30The Honda CBR250RR is unlikely to be launched in India, so there is no waiting period for this bike in the Indian market. The high price point and limited demand for a 250cc supersport bike in a price-sensitive market like India have led Honda to not plan a formal launch of the CBR250RR in the country.

Can you explain the difference between the Honda CBR250RR and the CBR250R?
17 April 2025 19:30The primary difference between the Honda CBR250RR and the CBR250R lies in their engine configuration and performance. The CBR250RR is equipped with a 249.7cc, 4-stroke, DOHC, 8-valve, parallel twin-cylinder engine, producing 41 hp at 13,000 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. In contrast, the CBR250R features a single-cylinder engine, typically a 249.6cc, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve unit, generating around 26.5 hp at 8,500 rpm and 22.9 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The CBR250RR also boasts advanced features such as ride-by-wire technology, three riding modes , and dual-channel ABS, which are not present in the CBR250R. Additionally, the CBR250RR has a more sophisticated suspension system with inverted telescopic forks and a Pro-Link monoshock, whereas the CBR250R usually has conventional telescopic forks and a monoshock rear suspension. The CBR250RR is designed as a more performance-oriented sport bike, while the CBR250R is positioned as a more entry-level sports bike.

Is the Honda CBR250RR suitable for track racing?
17 April 2025 19:30The Honda CBR250RR MC22 is highly suitable for track racing, particularly for beginners or those looking for a fun and challenging experience without overwhelming power. It boasts a lightweight design of 315 pounds, a high-revving 250cc four-cylinder engine that redlines at 19,000 RPM, and a robust twin-spar aluminum frame with a gull-wing swingarm, providing excellent handling and stability. Although it lacks the power of larger bikes on straights, it has sufficient power to keep up in other sections of the track, especially when kept in its powerband above 10,000 RPM. However, its original suspension and brakes may need upgrading to fully exploit its track capabilities, as the bike can dive significantly under hard braking and has poor brake feel in its stock form. With proper maintenance and upgrades, the CBR250RR MC22 can offer an exhilarating track experience with its unique sound and responsive handling.
