Honda CBR150R Review

15 Feb, 2019 11:48 AM

The importance of Honda CBR150R would always be alive in the Indian hearts as most of the fans have been waiting for the twin headlight version from a long time. Missing out the first twin headlight version, Honda may launch the facelift of the same in 2019, which has been recently launched in Indonesia at a price tag of IDR 32.5 million (INR 1.64 lakhs). Honda finally delivers the aggression which CBR brand name was missing in the entry level products. The front looks very much improved whereas the side profile now matches to that of the elder CBR500R.

The perfectly surrounded full fairing looks more sporty and eye catchy than ever. It uses LED headlight for the Indonesian version. The lights add more charm to the bike, thereby providing a better front fascia. It comes with a more precised fuel tank for better leg placement while the rider comes over sharp turns. The extended front visor would provide better wind blast protection. The bike measures 1983 mm in length, 694 mm in width and 1038 mm in height.

It comes with a ground clearance of 166 mm and gets a 1311 mm of wheelbase. The bike weighs just 135 kg, with 12 liter full fuel tank. New CBR150R comes with an all-new fully digital instrument console. The screen is divided into two sections with the upper section for the tachometer and lower for all the other available information like gear, odometer and speedometer. CBR150R comes with a 149.16 cc engine producing 16.9 BHP @ 9000 rpm and 13.7 NM @ 7000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets fuel injection as well liquid cooling for the engine.

The 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine would be more refined than before and performance figures for the motorcycle are expected to improve in this version. Honda CBR150R comes with 276 mm of front disc brake whereas the rear disc measures 220 mm. It misses on the ABS part and may come with Honda's CBS for India. The front gets telescopic forks whereas the rear uses a Pro-link suspension.

The bike comes with 100/80-17 front tyre whereas the rear measure 130/70-17. he CBR150R is expected to carry a single variant for the Indian market. Chances for an ABS version would stay on as Indian government has made ABS mandatory on bikes above 100 cc from the coming year. It would be available in Revolution White, Honda Racing Red, MotoGP Edition and Nitro Black. Honda is expected to price the new CBR150R for around INR 1.30 lakh.
