User Reviews for Bajaj Dominar
Bajaj Dominar 400 (Old Model)
One Word, Awesome!! No Cons at all, Better than RE350 and any of its Rival I have travelled Almost all over my state and I Daily Commute within my City too but no problem at all.
Pros: Awesome Looks
Cons: No Cons At all
Road presence is amazing
Believe me, owning this bike for the past year has been a great experience. The road presence is amazing and it really catches the attention of people on the road. Initially, it might feel a bit heavy if you're upgrading from a low cc bike, but once you get used to it, you won't feel that anymore.
Talking about the pros, people will definitely notice you when you ride this bike. The stability it provides is unparalleled and the mileage is quite good. It can give you anywhere between 25-30 kmpl depending upon your driving style. It also comes with riding accessories which make it very helpful. Plus, its budget-friendly and has a tough body as per Indian terrains. Maintenance is also quite low for a 400cc bike. It has great power as the 400cc engine provides 40bhp, which is very good in this price range.
The only cons I noticed with this bike are its suspension and brakes. The suspension can be a bit stiff at times, especially on long stretches. Brakes could also be better, even though it comes with dual channel ABS. It doesn't give you much confidence as compared to its rivals like KTM/BMW. Also, it's not so good for people with short height. So, if you're around 5.6 feet, then you'll be able to handle it quite easily. Lastly, even though Bajaj's service network is good, their service quality isn't
Very smooth and just glides in traffic
The driving experience of the Dominar 400 is very smooth and just glides in traffic and on the highway. It is also very comfortable for long rides, and I myself have taken rides of 150+ km without any issues. The mileage of the bike is low in traffic, but can go up to 30+ km per litre on the highway.
The additional benefit of the new version of the bike is the back rest, which makes the pillion very comfortable for long rides. There is no jerk or stalling while changing gears. The additional fitting for adding carrier adds value to the bike. There is some vibration at speeds above 120 km/h, but the features are less than its competition.
The after sale service is good, but the people in the service center do not always listen to the requirements of the customer. The parts are not always available in the service center and can take up to two months to arrive.
In conclusion, the bike is a super hit and has almost everything a touring bike would need, making it a great buy for touring lovers. If the parts and accessories were available in a timely manner, it would get a 10/10 rating. With the current specifications and parts availability, I would rate it 7/10.
Bajaj Dominar is all about domination
Dominar satisfies the buyer mainly because of its comfort, then comes the rest. Main thing to note is that power and torque match is excellent. Then comes the mosaic styled headlights. Its touring ability and stress less drive mainly due to smoother gear shifts and slipper clutch is a boon in curving and heavy traffic. As everyone know we look more or consider negatives than positives to know the worth of a vehicle, the main negative is lack of gear indicator which indicates which gear you are in.I think it should be a must in 6 speed bikes. Mileage is not a big negative but its not good too and same about the looks. But the view from the rear gives you huge disappointment. But due to its price point and overall riding experience all its negative is neglected.
Best Features: Slipper clutch
Pros: comfort, due to slipper clutch, value for money, touring capability
Cons: mileage, due to huge variations between highway and city
Here it is! No Match for Dominar 400 at its price!
Bajaj Dominar 400 is more like a hope for those who wish to enter the big bike segment and its clean INR 1.36 lakh price makes it easy for many, who were considering a 150 cc before, to enter the league. The introduction of LED lights, powerful 373 cc engine and ABS at such point is the best thing Bajaj Auto could have done in last few years. Dominar 400 has the best instrument console that Bajaj can offer currently and it even claims a better efficiency than the same engine which powers the KTM models. The 35 Nm of torque at just 6500 rpm means it it nothing less than a Royal Enfield and can pull anything with the same ease. The higher power means it can claim speed around 150 kmph while company just claims 148 kmph. It weighs 182 kg, which seems to much for a Bajaj bike as Pulsar have never been more than the 165 kg RS200. All in all, it can easily beat anything around its price segment
Best Features: Stuffed seats, LED lights, excessive torque
Pros: Price, engine, LED lights, stance
Cons: Excessive black parts, a bit of rear design, commuter style front view, high weight
