Our take on this /// Verdict
The Bajaj Discover 150F Drum is a significant improvement over its predecessors, offering a well-rounded package for commuters and occasional enthusiasts. While it boasts a stylish semi-fairing and a comfortable long seat, the bikes real strengths lie in its handling and ride quality. The Discover 150F feels agile and stable, thanks to its semi-double-cradle frame and well-tuned suspension. However, there are some areas that need attention, such as the engine vibrations and mileage, which can be inconsistent and often fall short of the companys claimed figures. Despite these niggles, the bikes overall performance, combined with its value-for-money proposition, makes it a compelling choice in the 150cc segment.
Price
In India, the Bajaj Discover 150F Drum variant is priced competitively to attract a wide range of buyers. The ex-showroom price for the Discover 150F Drum in Mumbai was around Rs. 56,343, while the on-road price would be slightly higher, typically ranging from Rs. 64,000 to Rs. 68,000, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing strategy positions the Discover 150F Drum as a strong contender against other 150cc motorcycles, offering a balance of features, performance, and affordability. For those looking for a reliable and feature-packed commuter bike without breaking the bank, the Discover 150F Drum is certainly worth considering.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 14 November 2024 03:53 PM Bajaj has announced plans to relaunch the Discover series, but there is no confirmation yet on whether the Discover 150F Drum will be part of this relaunch. The new designs and features are expected to attract more buyers in the commuter segment. I think this could be a great opportunity for Bajaj to revamp the Discover 150F and make it more competitive.
Tuesday, 01 August 2017 03:32 PM The Bajaj Discover 150F Drum, known for its semi-fairing design, has been discontinued due to poor sales. The bike was priced around Rs. 63,754 before it was taken off the market. I believe the semi-fairing was a unique selling point, but it didnt quite resonate with Indian buyers.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 09:44 PM The Discover 150F Drum features a 144.8 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 14 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 12.75 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The bikes performance figures make it a decent option for daily commuting.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 01:06 PM Bajaj Discover 150F Drum comes with a 10-liter fuel tank, allowing it to cover nearly 600 kilometers without refueling, based on its ARAI mileage of 60 kmpl. This makes it a practical choice for long rides. I think the fuel efficiency is one of its strongest points.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 04:33 PM The bike is equipped with a 240mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear, along with tubeless tyres. The braking system provides good stopping power, enhancing safety.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 04:18 PM The Discover 150F Drum has a seat height of 795 mm and a kerb weight of 132 kg, making it accessible and manageable for a wide range of riders. The bikes design and ergonomics are well-suited for Indian road conditions.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 11:26 PM Bajaj Discover 150F Drum was available in four color options: dark blue, wine red, ebony black, and dark bottle green. The color schemes were designed to appeal to a younger demographic looking for a stylish commuter bike.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 02:44 PM The Discover 150F Drum shares many components with the Discover 125 ST, including the grab rails, exhaust, seat, and monoshock. This helped in keeping production costs in check while maintaining quality.
Wednesday, 30 March 2016 09:37 AM Despite its features, the Discover 150F Drum faced stiff competition from other semi-faired bikes like the Hero Ignitor and the Honda Stunner, which might have contributed to its discontinuation. I believe the market was just too competitive for it to stand out.
Monday, 10 November 2014 11:46 PM Owners of the Discover 150F Drum have reported an average mileage of around 50 kmpl, which is slightly lower than the ARAI claimed mileage but still respectable for a commuter bike. Regular servicing is key to maintaining this mileage.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 11:09 AM When it comes to mileage, the Bajaj Discover 150F Drum shows mixed results. While the company claims an ARAI mileage of 60 kmpl, real-world user reports vary significantly. Users have reported mileage ranging from 35 kmpl to 50 kmpl, depending on riding conditions and speeds. For city riding, you can expect around 45-50 kmpl, while highway mileage can drop to around 35-40 kmpl at higher speeds. This inconsistency makes it crucial to weigh your specific usage patterns before making a decision, but overall, it remains a fuel-efficient option in its class.

I'm using Bajaj Discover 150 since 2014, near about 100000 km I have rode it. Only issue I think is fuel leakage. I rode it 450 km in a single day, with no issues.

Using Discover 150 Disc, Since 2011, Better than 150s and 150F. Best thing about bike is pickup and mileage. My longest distance in a days is approx 150 kms. Even after using for 10 years its gives mileage of 45 to 50 kmph. But i use to take care for bike well. Oil changing in every 2 months and visiting garage every month.

Bajaj Discover 150 DTSi is The Worst Bikes Ever.

Why did the Bajaj Company cheated their customers by providing this bike. It's always stopped by itself on road and in speed breakers and when I again start the bike it makes the hell of sound like it accelerates itself full race all by itself. What a worst bike. And when the company sold some of this bike and start to getting complains, the company stops this bike. I.e, what the hell. You should be ashamed of yourself Bajaj Company.

Best Features: Those customers who have purchased this bike is by the looks of it and by the company promises the customers that it is the best bike in segment etc-etc. Company should be ashamed of themselves.

Pros: Just the looks

Cons: Everything in this bike are worst like hell worst. From the day I bought this bike every single thing is worst.

I rod this Bike 110 kms in a day without facing problem. Rich 80 kmph speed with weight of 120 KGS with slide throttle. Mileage is good too in this segment. Now I want to ride with pillion rider on hills. I love this bike Discover 150 old 2011 model. It has its own problems too. That is leakage of engine oil. Other wise good.

Best Features: I rod this bike 110 kms in a day not feeling any problems. Great pick up. With me, my wife and 1.6 year old son accumulated weight of 125 kgs got 80 kmph.

Pros: Using since last 7 years. Feeling problem not so much. I rod it 110 kms in a day not feel so much problems with it. Up ride position is nice enough and good for long ride.

Cons: Nothing so much.
