Based on the FZ-S Fi platform, it seems to have drawn inspiration from the Yamaha XSR motorcycles. Yamaha is targeting the retro segment below the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 with the FZ-X 150 which could be an ideal space for an affordable retro bike installed with practical tweaks.
Yamaha FZ-X 150 Design and Style
FZ-X 150 is offered with an upright riding position, standard engine bash plate, Bi-functional LED headlight with DRL, LED taillight and a newly designed negative LCD console with USB. It is installed with a single unit step-up seat with tuck and roll pattern, tall set handlebar, engine cowl, the rugged dual-purpose tyres and the fork gaiters to enhance its overall style and a grab rail at the rear. New Yamaha FZ-X 150 overall dimensions are 2020mm*785mm*1115mm, seat height is 810mm, wheelbase of 1330mm, the kerb weight of 139 kg and the fuel tank has a total capacity of 10 litres.

2024 Yamaha FZ-X 150 houses a BS6-compliant 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke 2-valve, SOHC with TCI (Transistor Controlled Ignition) which can generate a max power of 12.4 HP @ 7250 rpm and a max torque of 13.3 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Yamaha mated the FZ-X engine with a 5-speed constant mesh transmission with a wet multiple-disc clutch.

Being suspended on a diamond chassis, FZ-X gets a 41mm Telescopic fork in the front and the 7-Step Adjustable Mono-Shock Absorber for the rear suspension. New FZ-X 150 gets a 282mm Disc brake in the front and a 220mm Disc brake at the rear with a single-channel ABS. It is installed with 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres of section 100/80-17 M/C 52P front and a 140/60-R17 M/C 63P rear tyre section.

It is offered with a negative LCD screen instrument console which has a speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, odometer, clock, fuel gauge, ABS light, low-fuel warning, economy riding indicator, and Bluetooth connectivity. It gets a dedicated Yamaha Motorcycle Connect mobile app called the Y-Connect app, which offers Missed Call and Incoming alerts, SMS & E-mail alert, app connectivity, phone battery level, fuel consumption, maintenance recommendation, and last parking position, malfunction, ranking and Revs dashboard.
