Bajaj Discover 150S Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Bajaj has finally launched the much-awaited Discover 150S on 11th August, 2014 in India. This 150cc bike will surely compete with the likes of Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour. Let's take a closer at the Discover 150S. The tag-line for the bike is 'Ek Naya Josh' which is claimed to deliver an impressive mileage of 72 kmpl.
Design and Style
Bajaj Discover 150S seems to be the naked version of the Discover 150F. The bike is designed by using the semi double-cradle frame. The motorcycle looks similar to other Bajaj Discovers craftsmanship but the company has chosen an all-black theme for this commuter that makes it look appealing and distinguishes from others. It shares some of its cycle parts with the 150 F and has got a wider rear tyre. The web-spoke alloy wheels enhance the side of this commuter. The bike features a 3D Discover logo on the fuel tank, enclosed chain guard, grab rails and aluminum side step in black finish.
Bajaj Discover 150S Instrument Panel
The bike comes fitted with a digital-analogue instrument console that comprises of a digital fuel gauge, odometer, trip-meter along with an analogue speedometer. The bike also gets low fuel and low battery indicators.
Dimensions and Fuel Tank Capacity
The Bajaj Discover 150S comes with a length of 2038mm, width of 714mm and height of 1040mm as its dimensions. The drum variant has a kerb weight of 130Kgs while the drum variant is 1Kg less than that of disc. The bike features a sturdy fuel tank with a capacity of 10-litres which gives you a decent range along with an usable and unusable reserve capacity of 1.9 and 1.6-litres respectively.
Bajaj Discover 150S Engine and Gearbox
Bajaj Discover 150S comes equipped with a 144.8cc, 4-stroke, 4-valve, single cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, DTS-i engine that generates a maximum power of 14.5 PS at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.75 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and a wet multi-plate clutch which works in all-up pattern. It has a bore into stroke ratio of 56.0 mm and 58.8 mm respectively. The bike can reach a top speed of 110 kmph. It uses the DC ignition system and carburettor-fed petrol fuel type.
Brakes and Suspension
The motorcycle gets 240 mm petal disc brakes at its front and 130 mm drum brakes at the rear end which are quite effective and strong. The suspension system comprises of 130 mm telescopic forks at the front and 110 mm nitrox twin with mono-shock absorbers at the rear end.
Ride and Handling
It is a great fun to ride this amazing commuter. The wheelbase of 1305mm and ground clearance of 165 mm protects the bike from damages. The five-spoke alloys are standard to this commuter with a 80/100-17 inch tubeless tyre at the front and a 100/90-17 inch tubeless tyre at the rear. The bike is stable around edges and can easily pave through city traffic.

User Reviews for Bajaj Discover 150
Bajaj Discover 150 Disc
I'm using Bajaj Discover 150 since 2014, near about 100000 km I have rode it. Only issue I think is fuel leakage. I rode it 450 km in a single day, with no issues.
Happy with Bajaj Discover 150 Disc
Using Bajaj Discover 150 Disc since 2011. And very happy with the purchase. Very low maintenance, parts are easily available. Pickup is quite good for daily commuters. Driven approx. 1,80,000 + Km. If you take care of your bike, it will definitely take care of your pocket.
Best Features: LOOKS, PICKUP AND MILEAGE
Pros: Mileage, Pickup, Looks, Comfort, Features are Good.
Cons: Not Really
Very Happy with the Discover 150 Disc
Using Discover 150 Disc, Since 2011, Better than 150s and 150F. Best thing about bike is pickup and mileage. My longest distance in a days is approx 150 kms. Even after using for 10 years its gives mileage of 45 to 50 kmph. But i use to take care for bike well. Oil changing in every 2 months and visiting garage every month.
Best Features: LOOKS, PICKUP AND MILEAGE
Pros: Mileage, Pickup, Looks, Comfort, Features are ok.
Cons: Not Really
Bajaj Discover 150 DTSi is The Worst Bikes Ever.
Why did the Bajaj Company cheated their customers by providing this bike. It's always stopped by itself on road and in speed breakers and when I again start the bike it makes the hell of sound like it accelerates itself full race all by itself. What a worst bike. And when the company sold some of this bike and start to getting complains, the company stops this bike. I.e, what the hell. You should be ashamed of yourself Bajaj Company.
Best Features: Those customers who have purchased this bike is by the looks of it and by the company promises the customers that it is the best bike in segment etc-etc. Company should be ashamed of themselves.
Pros: Just the looks
Cons: Everything in this bike are worst like hell worst. From the day I bought this bike every single thing is worst.
Not So Bad
I rod this Bike 110 kms in a day without facing problem. Rich 80 kmph speed with weight of 120 KGS with slide throttle. Mileage is good too in this segment. Now I want to ride with pillion rider on hills. I love this bike Discover 150 old 2011 model. It has its own problems too. That is leakage of engine oil. Other wise good.
Best Features: I rod this bike 110 kms in a day not feeling any problems. Great pick up. With me, my wife and 1.6 year old son accumulated weight of 125 kgs got 80 kmph.
Pros: Using since last 7 years. Feeling problem not so much. I rod it 110 kms in a day not feel so much problems with it. Up ride position is nice enough and good for long ride.
Cons: Nothing so much.
