Vehicle Overview | Bajaj Discover 150 carries the same design as current generation Discover 125. It came with a tagline 'more excitement per litre' and used the 144.8 cc, single cylinder air cooled engine for the purpose. The motor is good for 12.8 BHP and 12.7 Nm of torque. It weighs just 121 kg, making it the lightest ever 150 cc motorcycle in the discover range. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and was discontinued a long time back due to poor sales. Quick Facts - Bajaj Discover 150
FAQs
-
Was the Discover 150S the best of the 'jugaad' bikes?
29 January 2025 07:57Jugaad? You are more like a jack of all trades, master of none. Rather, I’d rather have a bike that is good at one thing rather than being average at everything.
-
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57The Discover got plenty of love. Do you recall the TV ads with the guy who does stunts? The problem was it was trying to be everything to everyone, and ended up pleasing no one.
-
Should Bajaj have loved the Discover 150S more?
29 January 2025 07:57The Discover was ahead of its time. Everyone now wants a bike to commute to the city and to go on weekend rides. I think Bajaj should have stuck with it and evolved the concept.
-
Was the Discover 150S the most comfortable bike in its class?
29 January 2025 07:57Most comfortable? It was probably not, but it was most certainly up there. I could ride my Discover for hours without getting a sore butt. Try that on a Pulsar!
-
But did the Discover 150S have the best headlight in its segment?
29 January 2025 07:57Any fancy LED setup would be my last choice for a headlight, I'd take the Discover's headlight. Simple, effective and it didn’t blind oncoming traffic. Perfect for Indian roads.
-
Is the Bajaj Discover 150S dead?
29 January 2025 07:57I'm sure it will be coming back, but with a major overhaul. They wouldn't just abandon the 150cc segment because the 150cc segment is hot right now. Soon expect a new Discover with fancy LED lights and a TFT screen.
-
So did the Discover 150F live up to its ‘Power of a 150, mileage of a 125’ tagline?
29 January 2025 07:54Such taglines are the problem because they set expectations that are unrealistic. The Discover 150F is a good bike, but it’s no magic bike. It’s a middle ground, and if that’s what you’re after, it’s fine.
-
Was the Discover 150F ahead of its time?
29 January 2025 07:54I definitely think it was ahead of its time. Back then, the market wasn’t ready for a semi faired 150cc commuter, and now we see tons of premium commuters with similar concepts.
-
Did Bajaj make a mistake in discontinuing the Discover 150F?
29 January 2025 07:54I honestly believe Bajaj made the right call. Discover 150F was stuck in a weird place - it was too expensive for budget buyers, but not sporty enough for enthusiasts. It just didn't have a clear target, it was just 'a thing'.
-
Did the Discover 150F's semi fairing really bring anything to the table or was it just a gimmick?
29 January 2025 07:54Bajaj’s semi fairing was a smart move. This attracted buyers who wanted something a little more premium than the typical commuter, but without the cost of a fully fledged sports bike.

User Reviews for Bajaj Discover 150
Bajaj Discover 150 Disc
I'm using Bajaj Discover 150 since 2014, near about 100000 km I have rode it. Only issue I think is fuel leakage. I rode it 450 km in a single day, with no issues.
Happy with Bajaj Discover 150 Disc
Using Bajaj Discover 150 Disc since 2011. And very happy with the purchase. Very low maintenance, parts are easily available. Pickup is quite good for daily commuters. Driven approx. 1,80,000 + Km. If you take care of your bike, it will definitely take care of your pocket.
Best Features: LOOKS, PICKUP AND MILEAGE
Pros: Mileage, Pickup, Looks, Comfort, Features are Good.
Cons: Not Really
Very Happy with the Discover 150 Disc
Using Discover 150 Disc, Since 2011, Better than 150s and 150F. Best thing about bike is pickup and mileage. My longest distance in a days is approx 150 kms. Even after using for 10 years its gives mileage of 45 to 50 kmph. But i use to take care for bike well. Oil changing in every 2 months and visiting garage every month.
Best Features: LOOKS, PICKUP AND MILEAGE
Pros: Mileage, Pickup, Looks, Comfort, Features are ok.
Cons: Not Really
Bajaj Discover 150 DTSi is The Worst Bikes Ever.
Why did the Bajaj Company cheated their customers by providing this bike. It's always stopped by itself on road and in speed breakers and when I again start the bike it makes the hell of sound like it accelerates itself full race all by itself. What a worst bike. And when the company sold some of this bike and start to getting complains, the company stops this bike. I.e, what the hell. You should be ashamed of yourself Bajaj Company.
Best Features: Those customers who have purchased this bike is by the looks of it and by the company promises the customers that it is the best bike in segment etc-etc. Company should be ashamed of themselves.
Pros: Just the looks
Cons: Everything in this bike are worst like hell worst. From the day I bought this bike every single thing is worst.
Not So Bad
I rod this Bike 110 kms in a day without facing problem. Rich 80 kmph speed with weight of 120 KGS with slide throttle. Mileage is good too in this segment. Now I want to ride with pillion rider on hills. I love this bike Discover 150 old 2011 model. It has its own problems too. That is leakage of engine oil. Other wise good.
Best Features: I rod this bike 110 kms in a day not feeling any problems. Great pick up. With me, my wife and 1.6 year old son accumulated weight of 125 kgs got 80 kmph.
Pros: Using since last 7 years. Feeling problem not so much. I rod it 110 kms in a day not feel so much problems with it. Up ride position is nice enough and good for long ride.
Cons: Nothing so much.
