Bajaj Avenger 220 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 has established itself as one of India's most reasonably priced cruiser motorcycles. One of the most distinguishing features of the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is its comfortable seating posture and powerful yet reliable engine, which is backed up by Bajaj's extensive service network. Bajaj recently updated the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 with a BS6 avatar to comply with India's strict emission norms. Except for mechanical upgrades, the BS6 version of the Avenger Cruise 220 has brought some significant changes to the cruiser bike.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise Design and Style
2024 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220's styling is inspired by large cruisers such as Harley Davidson. It has a vintage Cruiser vibe to it and has a symmetrical body. Its large windscreen is appealing and because of its telescopic fork at break angle, it has a cruiser appearance. The radiator, horn, exhaust, front and rear turn signals, mirror, and area near the pillion seat all have a lot of chrome on this Avenger Cruise 220. It's so shiny in the sunlight because it's made of so much chrome. The fuel tank contributes to the cruiser look; the way it flares out forms a teardrop shape, and it is topped with a large chrome piece that includes a tell-tale light, a fuel filler cap, and a minimalistic instrument cluster that is fully digitally situated above the chrome piece. It has a single-piece long seat with a backrest for the pillion seat, which is comfortable and adequate.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise Engine and Gearbox
2024 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220's engine is comparable to that of the well-known Pulsar 220F. The Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is powered by a 220cc DTS-i engine with fuel injection that produces 19.03 HP at 8500 rpm and 17.55 Nm at 7000 rpm. The Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220's BS6-compliant engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox, which is the same old five-speed unit gearbox. It travels in a straight line with ease, but it does not lean quickly or change directions smoothly.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
The tubular double-cradle frame supports the new Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220. It has telescopic forks with double anti-friction brushes at the front and hydraulic type 5-step adjustable twin shock-absorbers at the rear for suspension duties. The Cruise 220 has a single-channel ABS system with a 280mm disc in front and a 130mm drum in the back. The travel of the rear suspension has been increased by 12% for 2018, resulting in better ride quality on Indian roads. The 17-inch front and 15-inch rear spoke wheels are fitted with 90-section and 130-section tyres, respectively.
Instrument Console of Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise
The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit that displays the speedometer, odometer, trip metre, and a slew of other useful data. The Avenger Cruise 220 lacks a few features for a motorcycle that looks as poised as this one. The primary instrument cluster is circular and fully digital, and it contains a wealth of data that allows the rider to make informed decisions while on the road or at a stop. The lack of a tachometer makes it impossible for the rider to determine which RPM he or she is currently at, which is inconvenient. There is also a secondary display panel with warning lights (indicators, high beam, neutral, ABS, and low battery warning). However, its functionality is jeopardised due to its disorganised placement on the fuel tank.
Key Features of Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise
2024 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise is designed in the same manner as the other members of the Avenger bike family. Because this is the Cruise model, it has a large windshield, a lot of chrome, and spoke rims. Unlike the Avenger 160, the Avenger 220 Cruise has a fully digital instrument cluster with an odometer, trip metre, clock, fuel gauge, and service due reminder. There are a few telltale lights on the tank's panel. Even though it has LED DRLs, the headlight is still a bulb unit. However, the included braking mechanism works well and gives the rider confidence. For improved stability and control, there are front disc brakes with single-channel ABS, anti-friction tubeless tyres, and a wide rear radial tubeless tyre.
Top Speed and Mileage of Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise
2024 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise has a top speed of 120 km/h and a mileage of 40 km/l. In terms of performance, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h within 5 seconds approximately and 0 to 100 within 13 seconds approximately.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise Colour Options
Bajaj offers the new Avenger 220 Cruise Bike in 2 different colours namely Moon White and Auburn Black.
Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise Competitors
The Top competitors for Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 are Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Bajaj Avenger Street 160, JAWA Forty Two, Kawasaki Z650 RS, BMW R NineT Scrambler, Benelli Imperiale 400, Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Honda Hness CB350, and JAWA Perak.
Conclusion
2024 Avenger Cruise 220 is the ideal motorcycle for a daily city commuter who enjoys getting out on the highway on the weekends. In the city, however, this motorcycle is not the easiest to manoeuvre in tight spaces, but the comfort it provides more than compensates. The Avenger Cruise 220 is also a capable family motorcycle with excellent pillion comfort. The low cost of service and ease of maintenance add to the appeal of purchasing this motorcycle. This motorcycle's generously slathered chrome and impressive fit and finish give it a premium look that's sure to draw attention wherever you go.

User Reviews for Bajaj Avenger
Avenger 150 has very bad performance
Mechanic at the service center looks inexperienced as he cannot even fix the pickup problem. Most buyers are facing the same problem
Best Features: Looks only
Pros: Looks only
Cons: Pickup is the worst ever experience
Worn out parts within 500 KMs
In my experience, and service engineers (k v motors, Kozhikode) direction, within 500Kms of running ,right hand gasket cover ( dh 101154) is worn out. while running how many times i change all these parts. So think twice before purchasing street 150. I complaint to their Email from my mail , No reply from their. So my humble request is to avoid Bajaj.
Best Features: Other than worn out parts
Pros: Looking, design,
Cons: Sub standard washers, cheating of dealers
Totally Actual Review About Best Cruiser Bike Under 1 Lac Budget
Version Reviewed - Avenger street 150 Purchased As - Brand new (01-01-2016) Distance Covered - 5538 Km till date (26-28-2016) Fuel Economy - 50 kmpl (Totally run in city traffic) Good - Looks, performance, handling, comfort, safety. Bad - No rear disc brake. No kick. I purchased my brand new avenger 150 street in 1st jan 2016 and till date I already clocked It around 5500 km done total running in Kanpur city Only. Exterior Aggressive front look and cool side look although rear tyre is small but decent could use a day light running lamp. Engine Performance: 14 PS power is good you can feel it when you accelerate it easily takes pick up (Not great as Apache, Gixxer) but even after you have reached triple speed figure effortless easy to drive in traffic and fun to cruise on highway. I tested the top speed of my avenger 150 twice on highway. at first it clock 112 km/hr and after second service it clocks at 115 km/hr. Fuel Economy: This is the best feature of this bike. and the only reason to submit my review also. before 1st service I got an average of around 35 kmpl in city. after 1st service mileage increased to 40-45 kmpl. But after 2nd service it reached to 55 kmpl in the hard city traffic. Guys believe me currently it giving me a healthy 55 kmpl mileage in a tight city traffic. I also tested mileage 3 times after 2nd service from reserve to reserve I take 100 rs fuel each time and my bike covered 78km, 81km, 80km on the three testing while the price of petrol in Kanpur is 65 Rs/ltr. Ride Quality & Handling: Ride Quality is very good you don't get tired even after long city driving. Handling is very good very reactive and cornering can be done with confidence. only the turning radius is too large compare to other. it creates some problem in city traffic. Final Words: Overall a very very good package for a fair price deal under the 1 lac segment.
Best Features: Look, comfort, mileage, uniqueness
Pros: Looks, ride comfort, mileage
Cons: No disc brake in rear wheel, no kick, no storage
Solid & Hardcore
I bought the Avenger 150 model last week. The bike as a whole is absolutely fantastic. I found the short pick-up to be a bit less, but that's not what you are looking for in this bike, & in no way that is a disadvantage. Comfort level, top notch .. balance, top notch. Also, the problem with a big turning radius owing to much wider handle-bar for the Cruise model has been largely taken care of in the Street models. In short, if you want to go for speed, you have the Pulsars .. for everything else, you have the Avengers.
Best Features: Suspension, comparatively lighter chassis, back wheel-base.
Pros: Power, comfort, balance.
Cons: Absence of kick.
Amazing
Totally very good. But only colour where I disappointed. Bike has amazing seat comfort and looks. While riding the bike really I feel like king.
Best Features: Seating Position
Pros: Amazing Looks
Cons: I expected more colours but only colour in Street 150 which makes me nervous
