Bajaj Avenger Review

21 Dec, 2021 05:57 PM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Bajaj has finally launched the much-awaited 2016 Avengers in India. The company has launched 3 New Avengers, out of which 2 are 220cc and one is an all-new entry-level 150cc cruiser. Known as Avenger 220 Street, 220 Cruise and 150 Street, Bajaj has targeted wider audience this time and the company is pretty confident that the new range will help them increase the overall sales of Avenger cruiser in India.

The most affordable Avenger is the Street 150 and it is powered by a 149cc air-cooled engine, which develops maximum power of 14.3 BHP @ 9000 rpm (14.54 PS) with maximum torque of 12.5 NM @ 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the seat height has been increased by 15mm in comparison to the old model of Avenger, it now stands at 725mm. The ground clearance of the bike is 169mm with a kerb weight of 148 kg. The fuel tank capacity of Avenger 150 is 14 litres.

Bajaj Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 are powered by the same 219.9cc engine and it generates maximum power of 18.8 Bhp @ 8400 rpm (19.03 PS) with maximum torque of 17.5 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is air-cooled with an oil-cooler and it is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The ground clearance of the bike is 169mm with a kerb weight of 150 kg for the Street 220 and 155 kg for the Cruise 220. The fuel tank capacity of Avenger 220 is 14 litres. Avenger 220 Street and 220 Cruise are priced at Rs. 84,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Avenger 150 is priced at Rs. 75,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Questions and Answers

Most Popular Answers for Bajaj Avenger
Which is the preferable choice for city rides and occasional long-distance journeys - the Bajaj Avenger 160 or the Yamaha FZX?
26 January 2023 10:59
The Avenger 160 is a great urban cruiser, with its sharp agility making it a great machine for darting through city traffic. However, its long wheelbase does limit its corner-carving abilities, making it more of a highway tourer than a corner-carving machine. The FZ-X on the other hand, has a much more commuter-friendly stance, with its taller handlebars and forward-set footpegs. However, this comes at a slight cost in terms of highway performance, with the bike feeling strained at speeds above 80-85kmph. Its highway efficiency is also slightly lower than its city efficiency. Ultimately, if you're looking for a machine that's great for urban commuting, the Avenger 160 is an excellent choice, while the FZ-X is better suited for short, city-based rides. To get an accurate picture of each bike's performance and riding comfort, we suggest taking a test ride before making a decision.
Which bikes are the competitors of Bajaj Avenger Street 160?
26 January 2023 10:49
The Bajaj Pulsar P150 and the Yamaha FZ-Fi are the two motorcycles that come in the same price range as the Avenger Street 160. The P150 has a powerful 150cc engine and is known for its excellent performance, while the FZ-Fi offers a sporty look and great handling. Both these bikes offer good value for money and are great options for those looking for a bike in this price range.
Please suggest - Benelli TNT 25 or Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220?
14 January 2023 09:49

When it comes to choosing between the Benelli TNT 25 and the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220, it really depends on your needs. If you are looking for a more powerful bike, then the Benelli TNT 25 is the better choice with its 25 hp engine. However, if you are looking for a more comfortable ride, then the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is the better option with its 220cc engine and comfortable seating. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and what you are looking for in a bike.

Which is better between Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 or Royal Enfield Hunter 350?
13 January 2023 11:08

Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 is a great bike for those looking for a smooth and comfortable ride. It offers great performance and fuel efficiency, although it has started to show its age. It's still a great value for money bike, and could be a great choice for city commuting and occasional highway rides. On the other hand, Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a great choice for those looking for a retro-style roadster. It has a great styling, compact proportions, and is very friendly to ride. Royal Enfield has priced the bike competitively, making it a great choice for those looking for a premium small-capacity motorcycle. Considering its pricing and product, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a great choice. We suggest you go for a test ride before making the final decision.

Can I drive the Bajaj Avenger for 100 kms everyday?
29 December 2022 06:10
Yes, you can ride it for 100 kms daily, Avenger is a distinctly styled bike which carries a lot of safety and comfort features to enhance the ride quality. It has a low seat height and perfect handlebar design known as Highway comfort which favors relaxed riding. The bike has got a windshield (220 Cruise) at the front to save the rider from wind blasts. It comes with electric start and comfortable long ride footsteps. However, the bike isn't equipped with ABS.

In my experience, and service engineers (k v motors, Kozhikode) direction, within 500Kms of running ,right hand gasket cover ( dh 101154) is worn out. while running how many times i change all these parts. So think twice before purchasing street 150. I complaint to their Email from my mail , No reply from their. So my humble request is to avoid Bajaj.

Best Features: Other than worn out parts

Pros: Looking, design,

Totally Actual Review About Best Cruiser Bike Under 1 Lac Budget

Anurag Tripathi | 5 years ago

Version Reviewed - Avenger street 150 Purchased As - Brand new (01-01-2016) Distance Covered - 5538 Km till date (26-28-2016) Fuel Economy - 50 kmpl (Totally run in city traffic) Good - Looks, performance, handling, comfort, safety. Bad - No rear disc brake. No kick. I purchased my brand new avenger 150 street in 1st jan 2016 and till date I already clocked It around 5500 km done total running in Kanpur city Only. Exterior Aggressive front look and cool side look although rear tyre is small but decent could use a day light running lamp. Engine Performance: 14 PS power is good you can feel it when you accelerate it easily takes pick up (Not great as Apache, Gixxer) but even after you have reached triple speed figure effortless easy to drive in traffic and fun to cruise on highway. I tested the top speed of my avenger 150 twice on highway. at first it clock 112 km/hr and after second service it clocks at 115 km/hr. Fuel Economy: This is the best feature of this bike. and the only reason to submit my review also. before 1st service I got an average of around 35 kmpl in city. after 1st service mileage increased to 40-45 kmpl. But after 2nd service it reached to 55 kmpl in the hard city traffic. Guys believe me currently it giving me a healthy 55 kmpl mileage in a tight city traffic. I also tested mileage 3 times after 2nd service from reserve to reserve I take 100 rs fuel each time and my bike covered 78km, 81km, 80km on the three testing while the price of petrol in Kanpur is 65 Rs/ltr. Ride Quality & Handling: Ride Quality is very good you don't get tired even after long city driving. Handling is very good very reactive and cornering can be done with confidence. only the turning radius is too large compare to other. it creates some problem in city traffic. Final Words: Overall a very very good package for a fair price deal under the 1 lac segment.

Best Features: Look, comfort, mileage, uniqueness

Pros: Looks, ride comfort, mileage

Cons: No disc brake in rear wheel, no kick, no storage

Solid & Hardcore

I bought the Avenger 150 model last week. The bike as a whole is absolutely fantastic. I found the short pick-up to be a bit less, but that's not what you are looking for in this bike, & in no way that is a disadvantage. Comfort level, top notch .. balance, top notch. Also, the problem with a big turning radius owing to much wider handle-bar for the Cruise model has been largely taken care of in the Street models. In short, if you want to go for speed, you have the Pulsars .. for everything else, you have the Avengers.

Best Features: Suspension, comparatively lighter chassis, back wheel-base.

Pros: Power, comfort, balance.

Cons: Absence of kick.
