Should Bajaj keep the Avenger 220 as is or give it a major update?

For years now, the Bajaj Avenger 220 has been largely untouched, leading to much debate amongst people who love motorcycles as to whether or not an overhaul is in order. But on one side of the argument, its simplicity and its time tested design are part of its charm and appeal. Keeping it as is, it is still affordable and easy to maintain. Meanwhile, the motorcycle market is ever changing with new technologies and features becoming standard in even the most budget friendly models. A few riders think that the Avenger has fallen behind the competition and needs a serious refresh to remain relevant. It could be just an update to the engine or adding modern features such as a digital display or ABS, or even a full redesign. It raises wider issues of innovation versus tradition in motorcycle design and whether there's still room for simpler, more basic models in a world that's becoming ever more high tech.

But they have to update it, not too much. Maybe a little more power, better suspension, and ABS. Keep the classic cruiser look and feel but.

But Bajaj should definitely update it, just carefully. It’s a fine balance of keeping the heart of the Avenger, but pulling it into 2025 with some smart upgrades.

I would be for leaving it as is. One of the few bikes that still are easy to work on & maintain. Not everyone needs or wants a computer on wheels.

We need a major overhaul. The Avenger is on the right track, but it can’t stand still. It would go a long way with a new engine, better brakes and some tech upgrades.

They should have the current model and release an upgraded version of it. They can do that so they can cater to the traditional as well as the modern riders.

I believe there is a middle ground. Let’s keep the classic look and feel, but go with a modern engine, add ABS and a digital display.

Bajaj will definitely need to update it. Newer models compare to the bike outdated. It could be a refresh to bring in a lot of new buyers who want modern features.

Keep it as is! Its biggest selling point is the Avenger's simplicity. Not everything has to be tech laden. Sometimes, less is more.
