Yamaha Fazer V2 (150cc)
General information and overview
The Yamaha Fazer V2 FI is a sporty, tourer-friendly motorcycle that builds upon the success of the FZ series. It features a sleek and sharp design that sets it apart from other bikes in its segment. Powered by a 149cc, fuel-injected engine, it offers a smooth and efficient ride. The bike is known for its comfort, with a well-padded seat and an ergonomic riding position, making it suitable for riders of various heights. The Fazer V2 FI also boasts good handling and a quality build, although it lacks ABS, which is a significant omission. Overall, it is a solid choice for those looking for a stylish, comfortable, and performance-oriented bike for both city rides and occasional long trips.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Yamaha Fazer V2 FI is a compelling choice for those seeking a blend of style, comfort, and performance. This bike has been a staple on Indian roads for years, and its appeal lies in its tourer-friendly design, which is an extension of the naked street bike FZ series. The Fazer V2 FI boasts sharp styling and advanced technology, making it one of the best-looking motorcycles in the country. Its 150cc engine delivers a balanced mix of power and efficiency, although it lacks ABS, which is a significant drawback. The ride quality is commendable, and the bike is known for its comfort, especially for taller riders. However, the short gearing and limited fuel tank range are notable cons. Overall, it remains a strong contender in its segment, especially for those prioritizing comfort and aesthetics.
Recent news and announcements
Yamaha has discontinued the Fazer V2 Fi in India, marking the end of an era for this popular 150cc sports bike. The last known price of the Yamaha Fazer V2 Fi was Rs 88,143. I think this move might be a strategic decision to focus on newer models.
The Yamaha Fazer V2 Fi was known for its impressive design and features, including a fully digital instrument console, dual headlights, and a lightweight diamond frame. These features made it a favorite among riders who valued both style and performance. I believe these elements contributed significantly to its appeal in the Indian market.
The bike boasted a 149cc, BLUE CORE, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, producing 12.9 Bhp at 8000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. This engine was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a constant wet multi-plate clutch system.
In terms of braking, the Fazer V2 Fi came equipped with a 267mm hydraulic disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. The suspension system included telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back, ensuring a smooth ride.
The bike had a ground clearance of 160 mm and an extended wheelbase of 1330 mm, which enhanced its stability. It also featured tubeless tyres and alloy wheels, adding to its modern and appealing design.
Pricing details and changes
The Yamaha Fazer V2 FI was priced competitively in the Indian market when it was launched. As of its launch period, the ex-showroom price was around Rs 84,316 in Gurgaon. However, prices can vary slightly depending on the location and any additional features or editions. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, would typically range from Rs 95,000 to Rs 1.05 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. Given its features and performance, the Fazer V2 FI offers good value for money, especially considering its comfort and styling.
Fuel efficiency information
The Yamaha Fazer V2 FI is known for its decent mileage, which is a crucial factor for many Indian buyers. Users have reported an average mileage of around 40-45 kml, which is quite respectable for a 150cc bike. This makes it a viable option for daily commuting and occasional long rides, helping to keep running costs manageable.
