TVS NTorq Race Edition V2
General information and overview
The TVS NTorq Race Edition V2 is Indias first 125cc scooter to boast more than 10 horsepower, thanks to its XP (Xtra Power) feature. This scooter is powered by a 124.8cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, 3-valve single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, producing significant power and torque. It comes with two riding modes Street and Sport which allow you to tailor the performance to your riding style. The scooter features a full digital console with over 60 features, including voice assist, Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation. The design is bold and sporty, with race-inspired graphics, red painted alloy wheels, and a unique 3D NTORQ logo. The LED headlamp and sporty stubby muffler add to its aggressive look. With its impressive handling, high-speed stability, and a host of modern features, the NTorq Race Edition V2 is a compelling choice for those seeking a powerful and tech-laden scooter in India.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The TVS NTorq Race Edition V2 is a standout in the 125cc scooter segment in India, offering a unique blend of performance, technology, and styling. What impresses me most is its peppy performance, particularly in the Sport mode, which delivers a sharper throttle response and quicker acceleration. The scooters build quality is solid, with a fit-and-finish that is hard to fault, although the stiff suspension setup may not be ideal for long rides. The plethora of features, including the TVS SMARTXONNECT system with voice assist, Bluetooth connectivity, and a comprehensive digital console, make it a tech-savvy choice. However, the ride quality can be a bit harsh due to the sporty suspension, which might not appeal to everyone. Overall, its a great option for those who value performance and modern features, but it may not be the best fit for family use or long, comfortable rides.
Recent news and announcements
The TVS NTorq 125 Race XP continues to be the most powerful 125cc scooter in India, with its three-valve, 124.8cc engine producing 10.2 PS and 10.8 Nm of torque. It features dual riding modes - Street and Race - and comes equipped with a full digital console, voice assist, and Bluetooth connectivity. The scooter also includes features like a lap timer, navigation assist, and social media updates. I think the combination of power and technology makes it a top choice in its segment.
The TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition V2 is priced at Rs 97,491 (ex-showroom) in India and is available in color options like Race Red and Dark Black. It boasts a full digital console with over 60 features, including multi-mode display, personalized welcome messages, and navigation assist. The scooters sporty design and red-painted alloy wheels add to its appeal. I think the price is justified given the extensive list of features and the scooters performance.
TVS has retained several innovative features in the 2024 NTorq 125 variants, including Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and an engine kill switch. The Race XP variant specifically offers additional features like two riding modes and voice assist, enhancing the riding experience. The scooters design, inspired by stealth aircraft, remains sporty and edgy. I believe these features make the NTorq 125 a standout in the market.
The TVS NTorq 125 Race XP Black Edition has been introduced in India, featuring a new blacked-out theme along with cosmetic updates such as a new LED headlamp and daytime running lights. This variant also comes with a data-loaded digital console, Bluetooth connectivity, and voice assist features. The scooter is powered by a 124.8cc BS6 engine producing 10.2 PS and 10.8 Nm of torque. I think this black edition adds a sleek and aggressive touch to the already sporty NTorq 125.
TVS Motor Company has updated the NTorq 125 and NTorq 125 Race XP with new color options ahead of the festive season in India. The base model now comes in Nardo Grey, blue, and purple, while other variants have also received fresh color schemes. The engine and performance remain unchanged, but the new colors give the scooter a fresh look. I believe these new colors will attract more buyers, especially younger riders.
Pricing details and changes

However, its always a good idea to check with your nearest TVS dealership for the exact on-road price in your area. Considering the competition and the value it offers, the NTorq Race Edition V2 is positioned as a premium offering in its segment.

Fuel efficiency information
The mileage of the TVS NTorq Race Edition V2 is a mixed bag, depending on how you use it. In the Street mode, which is tuned for better fuel economy, the scooter can deliver around 38-42 kml, which is comparable to its predecessors. However, when you switch to the Sport mode, the fuel economy takes a hit due to the increased power and torque output. Despite this, the scooters fuel injection system and the RT-FI technology ensure that the engine is refined and efficient. If ridden calmly, the scooter can return decent fuel economy, but aggressive riding will naturally reduce the mileage. Overall, its a balance between performance and efficiency, making it suitable for both daily commuting and occasional spirited rides. The new TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP features a new race-inspired colour scheme and graphics. To round out the colour palette, the scooter comes with red painted alloy wheels. The new Ntorq 125 Race XP model now includes a TVS SMARTXONNECT connection platform with Voice Assist capabilities.
The TVS NTorq Race XP edition is painted in a combination of Red, Silver, and Black. The Race XP also includes red-painted alloy wheels and race-inspired logos. The TVS NTorq's design is inspired by stealth aircraft, according to TVS. The headlamp and tail lamps add to the scooter's sleek and aggressive appearance. The scooter also has comfortable seats and handlebars.
The same 124.8cc three-valve air-cooled BS6 single-cylinder mill that is now available in fuel-injected form powers the TVS Ntorq. Despite meeting BS6 pollution requirements, the engine keeps its performance. The TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP has 10.06 HP and 10.8 Nm of torque, which is 0.82 HP and 0.3 Nm more than the standard type.
The scooter has two modes: race and street. With the flip of a switch, the user can switch between modes, making it the first IC engine scooter with multiple ride modes. The Street Mode is great for navigating the urban jungle and traffic. The mode promises increased mileage and a more comfortable ride. The Race Mode, on the other hand, provides improved highway performance and the ability to propel the scooter to a top speed of 98 kmph.
TVS SMARTXONNECT is standard on the TVS NTorq Race XP. The AI-ready technology includes Bluetooth connectivity, which allows users to link their smartphones via the TVS Connect mobile app. The app is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay operating systems. Before the launching of their new model Ntorq XT, the TVS NTorq 125 XP was the most expensive variant in the portfolio. The extra expense of the new NTorq is well worth it when you consider all of the features and greater power it brings to the table. The Ntorq Race XP is only available in one colour scheme: Race Red Black.
