Mahindra Mojo 300

About
The Mahindra Mojo 300 is a sports-tourer designed to cater to the needs of long-distance riders. It features a 295cc, 4-valve DOHC engine that is both refined and powerful, capable of delivering smooth performance even at high speeds. The bike boasts a unique design with a twin pod headlight setup, USD forks, and petal discs, which although may look unusual, contribute to its distinctive appeal. The ergonomics are well-thought-out, with a raised handlebar and foot pegs positioned to provide a comfortable riding posture, ideal for long rides. The suspension is plush, handling potholed roads with ease, and the dual exhausts add to the bikes aural appeal. While it may not be the lightest bike at 165kg, it remains stable at high speeds and handles well on straight roads. Overall, the Mojo is a solid package for tourers, offering comfort, performance, and reliability, making it a worthwhile consideration for those who spend a lot of time on the saddle.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Mojo 300 is a robust and comfortable touring bike that has impressed me with its performance and durability. Despite its unconventional looks, the Mojo grows on you, especially with its unique twin pod headlight setup and imposing presence. The bike excels in long-distance riding, offering a comfortable rider triangle with a raised handlebar and well-positioned foot pegs, making it ideal for those with back issues. The engine is refined, smooth, and powerful, capable of cruising at speeds of 100-120 kmh without any fatigue. However, it does have some drawbacks, such as the lack of ABS in earlier models (though the 2020 version addresses this), and the rear brake can be problematic if not properly maintained. Overall, the Mojo is a solid choice for tourers, but it may not be the best fit for city commutes due to its weight and handling.
Price
The Mahindra Mojo 300, particularly the 2020 ABS model, is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price typically ranges between 2.1 lakh to 2.3 lakh, depending on the region and any local taxes. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other costs, can go up to around 2.7 lakh to 3 lakh. Given its features, performance, and the inclusion of ABS in the newer models, the Mojo offers good value for money, especially for those looking for a reliable touring bike. However, the pricing can vary slightly based on the state and local dealership, so its always a good idea to check with local dealers for the most accurate pricing.
2024 Mahindra Mojo 300 on road price is Rs 2.39 lakh in Delhi, Rs 2.48 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 2.42 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 2.45 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Mahindra dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.

COMPARISON OF HONDA CBR250R ,MAHINDRA MOJO 300 & KTM DUKE 390?
29 December 2022 05:58
The best bike serving all the above listed functions would be the Mahindra Mojo as it comes with a sensible price tag of INR 1,58,000 and performs really well for its actual value. It gets a 294.72 cc engine producing 26.82 BHP and 30 NM of torque. The values are excellent when compared to CBR250R but lacks the charms in front of the bigger Duke 390. The Duke is not an excellent choice for long rides due to its small fuel tank and aggressive riding position. The Mojo gets an outstanding 21 liter of fuel tank and cruises very easily on triple digit speeds. It gets exclusive Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 tyres and tackles every surface with its excellent front USD as well as rear monoshock suspension.
What is life time for Mahindra Mojo 300's engine?
29 December 2022 05:53
An engines lifetime basically depends on two factors, service and driving style. A well maintained engine which has been driven responsibly lasts more than a decade whereas missing even a single factor like no proper servicing or rough riding style can ruin its life in a short span of 2-3 years only. Being powered by a 295 cc engine, the Mojo will perform extremely well on all types of terrains, providing a decent fuel efficiency and refined performance. If maintained under the company's recommendation,it will stay flawless for many years. It gets a single cylinder motor, expected to produce 27-30 BHP and 25-27 NM of torque. It is expected to cost around INR 1.5 lakh.

The best option for touring and high speed cruising

Madmonk - | 2 years ago

Apart from the oil charges (Rs1800) with 3 free service, it costs me only Rs 4500 for the chain, sprocket, and brake pads. So far, this is the maintenance costs for Mojo, which is fair and proves the build quality. I have traveled long distances (500+ kms/day) multiple times and had no issues so far. Pros - Its heavy and it will give you a premium ride feel every time. The 30 Nm torque is the best feature I like and it comes right when you touch 5500 RPM. The riding position is brilliant for long travel and is effortless. Cons - We really don't need a bulky dual exhaust unit for a single cylinder. It annoys and scraps every time you do a corner. My both side silencer plates worn out due to this action. Headlamp unit looks great but it is not effective for night travel, most of the mojo owners have fitted additional units for a better vision.

Best Features: Tank capacity, Headlight unit, High NM Torque, Build quality

Pros: Torque, Wheelbase, Headlamps, Huge tank capacity/design, USD forks, Speedometer console, Smooth gearshift

Cons: Dual Exhaust and ABS

It seems they will produce a cheaper version of Mojo and I suggest them to take out the stupid looking headlamps and to introduce ABS

Is it a value for money bike ?
No, because the price is too high for a NON abs less powered bike
Does it have the latest tech?
No ABS, or traction control as it claims to be an adventure tourer
Does this out run in any segment with its competitors?
Well yes, the tank capacity is high but the fuel efficiency is low as 25KMPL
Do you get service centres?
It's like the rain in desert, Mahindra has less service centres
Let's check it's competitors
For almost 2 lacks INR you can get
KTM Duke 390
KTM Duke 250
Honda CBR 250R
Bajaj Dominar 400 ABS etc
And if your ready to invest bit more you can have an Apache RR 310

Can Mahindra Mojo be the worthy replacement for KTM Duke?

krishnakumar_ka

Waiting for Pulsar CS 400. @ Rs. 160000 that would be better option. But read the news that CS 400 launching in 2016. This gap can help Mahindra mojo. But you will get Enfiend bike for this price. Another option is KTM.

Mahindra can think about buying the old Yezdi's design and mold. That will be more successful than this.

Mojo's first prototype was better than this. Mahindra is proving that they don't know how to design a bike. See their other bikes UGLY! If they sell it with huge exchange bonus and at the price of 75,000 people may buy. At least Mahindra will get some cash from selling used bikes.
