Will Maruti’s premium pricing strategy for Invicto find an audience for a brand that has been known for budget cars?
31 December 2024 08:56
It’s about value proposition. The Invicto may find its niche if it can provide features, as well as quality similar to that of the more expensive rivals and take advantage of Maruti's strengths such as low maintenance costs and widespread service network.
Is the Invicto's non presence of ADAS features sufficient to make it an underdog in the premium MPV segment?
31 December 2024 08:56
Maybe Maruti could have missed an opportunity here. ADAS could have been a good argument to pay a premium price. It’s not just about functionality, it’s also about perception of being a high tech, modern vehicle.
Let's compare the quality of the Invicto's interior, and its features against those of the established premium MPV segment i.e. the Kia Carnival.
31 December 2024 08:56
I've sat in both and I'd say the interior on the Invicto is decent, but not quite up to Carnival's level. It feels good with the materials, but there’s still a whiff of 'mass market' in some places. There's just something about the Carnival that's just a touch more premium than the Razer Series.
The Fronx's 1.0L turbo engine is premium, but is it worth paying a premium over the standard 1.2L?
31 December 2024 07:55
The turbo is great but think long term costs. With turbo engines, you’ll probably have to spend more on repair in the long run, and in most cases they require more maintenance.
Is it worth the jump from a Myvi to a Vios, or save up for the jump to a Corolla instead?
31 December 2024 07:24
It depends on your needs. If you spend most of your time on the highway, the Vios is quite an upgrade from the Myvi. If you’re mostly in the city, it’s not that big difference. If not, then stick with the Myvi or go all out for the Corolla.
What MPVs in the same segment is the Toyota Rumion competing against on value for money?
31 December 2024 06:43
I would say it’s middle of the pack. Not the best value here but you have to pay a visit to twin peaks foley (a Toyota dealer) and check out their service network – big network there!
Will Toyota Rumion eat into sales of other Toyota models or draw new customers to the brand?
31 December 2024 06:43
But it could backfire by making people wonder why they should pay more for 'real' Toyotas when this is so much cheaper.
Is the Toyota Rumion a lazy rebadge or a smart business move?
31 December 2024 06:42
Lazy rebadge all the way. It used to be that Toyota was known for reliability and innovation. They're just slapping their logo on Marutis now. Disappointing.
Is the Toyota badge worth the extra cost the Toyota Rumion asks over the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga?
31 December 2024 06:42
To some, the Toyota badge represents value for resale as well as reliability. But if that matters to you, it’s worth it.
Where does the Toyota Rumion fit in with Toyota’s long term strategy for India?
31 December 2024 06:42
Perhaps they are concentrating on premium segments with cars developed by Toyota and using rebadges for their budget options?
Is Toyota Fortuner Legender worth the premium over the standard Fortuner?
31 December 2024 06:36
Disagree. Styling is what makes the Legender stand out, and that counts for a lot of buyers. On top of that, the interior upgrades — the larger screen and wireless charging — are nice quality of life improvements.
How good is the Fortuner Legender's infotainment system, compared to other premium SUVs?
31 December 2024 06:36
For me, it's good enough. The fanciest touchscreen doesn’t matter to me — I care more about how reliable and how it performs. I'm happy as long as it has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Is the premium on the Toyota Glanza over the Maruti Suzuki Baleno justified?
30 December 2024 12:21
However, if you can negotiate a good deal, it’s worth it. That's why some Toyota dealers have better discounts or freebies you might be able to take advantage of to offset the price difference.
Does the Maruti Tour S STD's success in the commercial market unfairly inflate Maruti's sales numbers?
30 December 2024 09:38
We shouldn’t ignore commercial buyers. The car’s quality is often reflected by the fact that they demand much stricter requirements for reliability and efficiency.
Can the new Dzire's premium features kill the 'value-for-money' appeal that made it popular?
30 December 2024 07:40
These fancy features are not going to drive the price up and the maintenance costs! However, the Dzire should stick to what it does best: being a no nonsense, reliable family car.
Is the XUV 3XO’s ADAS features worth its price premium over competitors?
27 December 2024 11:52
It is an overkill for Indian roads. The best advice is to save your money and go for a cheaper variant without ADAS.
This leads us to the question, is the Altroz iTurbo really worth the premium over the NA version?
26 December 2024 12:45
Absolutely worth it! The turbo provides an extra punch that makes a big difference on highways. I went from the NA and it's like night and day.
Should you spend the premium on the Tata Harrier Dark Edition over the standard version?
26 December 2024 12:08
It depends on what you value. If you like unique aesthetics and are willing to pay a little extra for exclusivity, you should. If you are practical, however, the standard version provides the same functionality for a lower price.
Is Tata Nexon Dark Edition worth paying the premium over the standard model?
26 December 2024 10:25
It's a mixed bag. It looks great but easily gets dirty and heats up more in summer. It’s not about aesthetics, it’s about practicality.
Is all the black interior in the Safari Dark Edition too hot in Indian summers?
26 December 2024 09:44
The black shows every speck of dust and the heat is manageable. Keeping it clean is a pain.
