Are the skinny tires on Bajaj Freedom 125 NG04 Drum a deal breaker?

The tires are a definite compromise, but so is the whole idea of a CNG bike. If you're buying this, economy matters to you more than anything else.

I was more worried about getting replacement tires. Given such an unusual size, you might be pretty limited in what you can do when it’s time to change them.
Are the skinny tires on Bajaj Freedom 125 NG04 Drum a deal breaker?

Let’s be honest, if someone is purchasing this bike, it ain’t for performance. All it is about is those sweet, sweet miles. It’s just part of the package with skinny tires.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?
29 January 2025 09:14
In truth, the Freedom 125’s instrument cluster is pretty basic. It works, but it’s 2025, and I at least expected a partial digital display. It has a clear analog speedometer, but it’s old fashioned compared to some competitors.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?
29 January 2025 09:14
The Freedom's cluster is actually what I prefer, for its simplicity. The most important thing to remember when you’re riding is that it’s easy to read at a glance. Not everyone needs or wants a fancy digital display that’s hard to read in bright sunlight.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?

You're both missing the point. The real issue is that Bajaj could have added some useful features without going full digital. A nice middle ground would have been a simple LCD for the odometer and trip meter.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?
29 January 2025 09:14
As a daily rider, the Freedom’s cluster is perfectly fine. You can see speed, fuel level and basic indicator lights. How much more do you really need on a commuter bike? For more premium models, save the fancy displays.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?
29 January 2025 09:14
Here, I think Bajaj missed an opportunity. It could even have had a basic digital display with things like a clock, real time mileage indicator or service reminder. Daily riders will find them useful and they won't cost too much.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?
29 January 2025 09:14
The Freedom 125's target audience probably couldn't care less about having a super high tech display. It’s a simple, reliable design that fits the bike’s ethos. The instrument cluster is no frills commuter.
How does the Freedom 125 NG04 Disc’s instrument cluster measure up to modern standards?

The biggest drawback I’ve found is the lack of gear position indicator. It’s a small thing, but it’s really useful, especially for newer riders. Bajaj could have easily added this without going overboard on tech.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
Absolutely worth it! I do feel so much more confident with the extra stopping power, especially when driving in the city. It's a no-brainer for safety.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
No, that's overkill for a commuter. I have had the drum version for years without problem. And save the cash and put toward fuel or maintenance.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
Depends on your riding style. The disc is the way to go if you’re more aggressive or ride in hilly areas. Drums are OK for relaxed city commuting.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?

I wish I had gotten the disc version. I really notice the difference in the rainy season from my friend's disc Discover.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
Braking power is not all that it's about. It makes the disc look way cooler, and might even help with resale value down the line. If you are going to sell in a few years, worth considering.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
I honestly think it's just a marketing gimmick. The Discover’s drum brakes are already pretty good. Save your money.
Is the extra cash spent on Bajaj Discover 125T Disc worth it, as compared to the drum brake version?
29 January 2025 07:46
I can tell you it is worth it because I upgraded from drum to disc. It is quickly forgotten how expensive it was initially, but you appreciate the improved braking everyday.
Did the Discover 125 ST have a semi digital instrument cluster too early?
29 January 2025 07:39
The semi digital cluster of my Discover 125 ST was something I loved. The digital speedo was easy to read at a glance, and a tachometer made it fun to wring out the engine now and then. Definitely made the bike feel more premium than its price was suggesting.
Did the Discover 125 ST have a semi digital instrument cluster too early?
29 January 2025 07:39
I honestly did not think the fancy cluster was worth it. An experienced rider on a 125cc commuter like most of us barely, if ever, takes a look at his speedometer, let alone a tach. Instead of unnecessary bling, I would have preferred that Bajaj put that money in better brakes or suspension.
Did the Discover 125 ST have a semi digital instrument cluster too early?
29 January 2025 07:39
The semi digital cluster was ahead of its time, but it was pretty meh. In bright sunlight the digital display was hard to read, and the tach was too small to be useful. Good idea, mediocre implementation.
