Most H2s never see dirt, let’s be real. It doesn’t mean they can’t handle it. It is more an owner problem than a vehicle problem.

I’ve owned both an H1 and H2, the H2 isn’t as capable but it’s far more comfortable for daily driving and still performs reasonably off road. For someone who wants both, it’s a good compromise.
How bad is the Hummer H2 off road, as people claim?

There's no question about it, the H2 is a poser's vehicle. It's too heavy, too wide and too thirsty to be a serious off road contender. If you’re actually planning on hitting the trails, you’re better off with a 4Runner or a Wrangler.

It is easy to forget that the H2 shares a lot of the components with GM’s heavy duty trucks. Even if it’s not as extreme as the H1, it’s got a solid foundation for offroading.

I think the H2's abilities are driver dependent. When wielded by the right hands it can overcome some pretty impressive obstacles. However, an inexperienced driver may find its size to be a problem.

If you're buying an H2, you don't care about gas mileage. It’s like complaining that a supercar isn’t practical for grocery runs.
So, what’s with the Hummer H2’s fuel economy?

In my H2, I average about 11 mpg, but the smiles per gallon make up for it. I can justify the fuel costs; it’s not my daily driver.
So, what’s with the Hummer H2’s fuel economy?

No doubt the fuel economy is terrible. Of course, we can’t forget that most full size trucks from the same era weren’t much better. That's just the image of the H2.

It’s exaggerated by people about how bad it is. It's thirsty, yes, but if you're not lead footing it everywhere you can get reasonable (for its size) mileage.
So, what’s with the Hummer H2’s fuel economy?

The fuel economy criticism I think is valid. Vehicles like the H2 are the kind of mentality that is quickly becoming yesterday’s news in a world that is increasingly climate conscious.

Will the TVS Jupiter CNG's success come from government incentives or consumer demand?
23 January 2025 11:36
They'll both need it, but I think the real driver will be consumer demand. People will want in on it if they see their neighbors saving money with CNG.
