Let's compare the quality of the Invicto's interior, and its features against those of the established premium MPV segment i.e. the Kia Carnival.
In the segment, buyers hope for a luxury, comfortable ride and therefore high interior quality and features are very important. As a newcomer here, the Maruti NEXA Invicto will take on the likes of Kia Carnival, which is known for plush feel with a wide list of features. These comparisons beg the question of materials quality, fit and finish, comfort features, and general cabin ambiance. The Invicto is keenly priced and positioned, so enthusiasts and potential buyers want to know if Maruti has pulled off a truly premium interior experience. The talk often goes to a certain feature such as seat comfort, infotainment, second and third row amenities, all of which are vital in the MPV segment.
I've sat in both and I'd say the interior on the Invicto is decent, but not quite up to Carnival's level. It feels good with the materials, but there’s still a whiff of 'mass market' in some places. There's just something about the Carnival that's just a touch more premium than the Razer Series.
Actually I like the Invicto's interior layout better. And it's more modern, with the panoramic sunroof making it feel airier. Yes, it may not have the bells and whistles of the Carnival, but for everyday use it is more than enough.
We can’t forget that the Invicto is a lot cheaper than the Carnival. I think Maruti has done a good job for the price difference. Although it isn't as plush, it's good value.
As with a Carnival, the Invito’s infotainment system is a little basic. At least in a premium MPV, I expect a more high tech and responsive system. In this department, Maruti needs to step up.
For someone used to Maruti interiors, the Invicto is a big leap. Maruti has come a long way and it might not beat the Carnival, but it’s impressive. In a few more years, I'll bet they'll be right up there with the best.
