Without a doubt, this is more of a grand tourer. The Vanquish is just too heavy and comfortable to be regarded as a true track weapon.

I'd say it's both. All things considered, Aston has done a great job of making it comfortable for long trips but still thrilling when you want to push it.

Realistically, it’s a grand tourer with a bit of sport to it. That’s not a problem, but it won’t be able to keep up with dedicated sports cars on a track.

I would say it’s more of a driver’s car. For me, it is firmly in that category with the V12 engine and the way it handles.

It is first a grand tourer, but that does not mean it cannot be driven hard. They aren't as focused as some pure sports cars.

I would call it a driver’s GT. It has the comfort for long trips but the performance to satisfy when you can find a good road.

Its more of a pretty grand tourer though, and that’s not a bad thing. An exciting car doesn't have to be a track monster.

That reclined position could be a game changer in reducing driver fatigue. Less blood pooling in the legs while at rest over long stints.

No way, it’s going to be a claustrophobic nightmare. Without feeling like you’re in a coffin, endurance racing is tough enough.

In fact, the visibility may be better. The LMP style cockpits could give a wider field of view than that bubble canopy.

They are probably wise enough to have thought of that. Maybe they’ve got some clever solution to quick driver swaps that we haven’t seen yet.

That might restrict their driver choices. Not every top endurance driver will be able to fit in that layout or even be comfortable in it.

It’s definitely more of a driver’s car than previous DBs. The new suspension and chassis tuning makes a huge difference in the corners.

Yes it's still a GT at heart. It is too heavy and too luxurious to be a real sports car. That's not a bad thing – it excels at what it’s meant to do.

Aston appears to have found a sweet spot. It’s sharper than a traditional GT but comfortable by hardcore sports car standards. Best of both worlds.
