Let's not underestimate professional drivers. They fit into all kinds of weird cockpits. They will make it work if it is fast.

I'm worried about long-term comfort. After 3 or 4 hours, what is okay for a quick stint is torture.

You're all missing the point. Better protection in crashes is what this cockpit design could offer. Safety first!

That might restrict their driver choices. Not every top endurance driver will be able to fit in that layout or even be comfortable in it.

They are probably wise enough to have thought of that. Maybe they’ve got some clever solution to quick driver swaps that we haven’t seen yet.

In fact, the visibility may be better. The LMP style cockpits could give a wider field of view than that bubble canopy.

No way, it’s going to be a claustrophobic nightmare. Without feeling like you’re in a coffin, endurance racing is tough enough.

That reclined position could be a game changer in reducing driver fatigue. Less blood pooling in the legs while at rest over long stints.
