Is the Hummer H2 a reliable daily driver?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
For over a decade now, the Hummer H2 has been out of production, and I’m sure many are wondering how these vehicles hold up in everyday use. There are some owners that swear by their H2s, saying they’re built like tanks and will run forever with basic maintenance. Others report frequent, expensive repairs and difficulty finding parts. There's the question of comfort and practicality and whether you'll be able to putter around town on errands just like you could in a regular car. So, let’s take a look at the real world experiences of H2 owners who use their vehicles every day.

My H2 has been pretty reliable, but I do a lot of preventative maintenance too. It may not be the right choice for you if you’re not handy with tools or don’t want to learn.

As a daily, it’s actually not bad if your commute is short. It's enjoyable for around town driving because of the commanding view of the road and the comfort.

It’s not something I would recommend as a daily unless you have deep pockets. Most people can't afford it between fuel and potential repairs.

The biggest drawback as a daily driver are the fuel costs. The vehicle is comfortable and capable enough, but you’re going to be stopping at gas stations a lot.

I’ve been hit or miss on reliability. It's great when it's running well. However, when something breaks, it can be expensive to fix and time consuming.

The size is a pain in tight parking lots, but it’s surprisingly comfortable for daily use. If you have to park and plan your routes, you definitely need to do this in advance.

I've had my H2 for 5 years now and driven it daily, it's been rock solid. But of course that’s also true for any vehicle: regular maintenance is key.
