As a true daily driver or weekend toy, the Aston Martin DB9 Volante is the question.
The DB9 Volante is regarded by some as a luxury grand tourer, but not really practical for the day to day. There are those owners who swear by its comfort and usability, while others will argue that it's too precious and maintenance heavy to be used on a daily basis. Fuel consumption, reliability and storage space are factors. The V12 engine and convertible top make things more complicated, but the GT nature of the car suggests it could be used regularly. The question also arises of whether to use such a special car every day lessens its appeal or you should enjoy it as often as possible. There are many pros and cons about using the DB9 Volante as a primary car or only using it for special occasions.

Why not daily it? These were built to be driven not sit in a garage. But be ready for all the attention you receive wherever you are.

I tried daily driving one and it was not worth the stress. The enjoyment of it was taken away from me by constant worry about door dings, parking, and maintenance.

It’s actually been a great daily to me. The back seats are perfect for my dog and the trunk space is decent. More practical than you'd think.

Driving a DB9 Volante every day is like eating caviar for breakfast every day: possible, but not really the point. Save it for special occasions.

My daily during the summer months has been great. The trick is to secure a good independent mechanic to control costs.

It depends on your lifestyle. It might work if you have a short commute and don’t need to haul a lot. However, for most people it makes more sense as a second or third car.

No way I'd daily a DB9. They are cars that are supposed to be cherished and preserved. The maintenance costs would be insane if you are racking up miles every day plus.

For over a year I’ve driven my DB9 Volante daily and it has been surprisingly practical. Yes, fuel economy is not great, but the comfort and joy it provides during the mundane commute is worth it.
